Your Moneris Career - The Opportunity

Reporting to the Director, Business Development - Partnerships, the Business Development Manager - Partnerships is responsible for driving revenue growth through the identification, acquisition, onboarding, and development of strategic partnerships. This role works closely with internal stakeholders to evaluate partnership opportunities, support business case development and contract negotiations, and lead the onboarding and incubation of new partners.

As the primary point of contact and subject matter expert during the early stages of the partnership lifecycle, you will build and strengthen partner relationships, ensure operational effectiveness and compliance, resolve issues and escalations, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. This role also supports the transition of partnerships to the Account Management team and contributes to Moneris' strategic growth and revenue objectives.

Location: You will be based in our Etobicoke office, balancing in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.

Reporting Relationship: You will report to Director, Business Development-Partnerships.

Posting Type: Replacement.

Salary Range: The expected base salary range for this role is $95,000-$124,000.

Total compensation may also include variable or discretionary incentive components, including but not limited to bonuses and commissions. Individual job offers are determined by various factors, including experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.

Your Moneris Career - What you'll do

  • Identify, evaluate, and pursue new strategic partnership opportunities through market analysis, business case development, and direct engagement with prospective partners.
  • Support partnership contract negotiations by collaborating with internal stakeholders to align commercial, operational, and strategic requirements.
  • Drive revenue growth by developing and expanding new and existing partner relationships.
  • Lead the onboarding and incubation of new channel partners, serving as the business development lead and subject matter expert throughout implementation.
  • Manage partner relationships during the first 18 months of the partnership lifecycle, including business reviews, annual partnership planning, compliance requirements, audits, product introductions, program management, and performance analysis.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for partners and internal stakeholders, providing guidance, resolving escalations, and ensuring a positive partner experience.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships with Sales, Product, Marketing, Client Integration, and other stakeholders to support partner acquisition, readiness, engagement, and successful execution.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on partnership performance, including KPIs, revenue growth, profitability, service levels, and business outcomes.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance operational efficiency, partner satisfaction, and overall program effectiveness.
  • Support partner-related presentations, proposals, RFP responses, solution discussions, product demonstrations, and the successful transition of partnerships to the Account Management - Partnerships team following onboarding and incubation.

Required skills and experience

  • 3-5 years of business development and relationship management experience.
  • Ability to identify and evaluate software solution capabilities and assess alignment with existing technology environments.
  • Working knowledge of API and software integration concepts and the software/product development lifecycle.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience that would set you apart

  • Experience in the payments industry or FinTech.
  • General technical knowledge of API and SDK integrations.
  • Bilingualism in French.
