Job Description

SPEC. TRACK. CLOSE.

At Armstrong Ceiling Solutions, these aren't just three words -- they're how we win.

For more than 65 years, Armstrong Ceiling Solutions has helped shape Australia's commercial buildings. As investment in healthcare, education and infrastructure continues across NSW, we're expanding our specification team to strengthen our presence with architects, designers and commercial builders.

If you're passionate about building relationships, influencing projects, and seeing opportunities through from concept to completion, we want to hear from you.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for more than a salesperson — we’re looking for a commercially driven business developer who knows how to open doors, influence specifications, build trust and close the deal.

Join Armstrong Ceiling Solutions and take the lead on business growth across NSW, with the freedom to find opportunities, build momentum and make things happen.

This is a hands-on Business Development role with real influence. You’ll work with architects, designers, builders, contractors and owners to uncover opportunities, shape specifications and turn them into projects, sales and long-term customer relationships.

Our philosophy is built on three core pillars:

SPEC: Build trusted relationships with architects and designers.

TRACK: Own projects from concept through construction.

CLOSE Partner with contractors and distributors to convert opportunities into profitable outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing

  • 🚀 GROW THE NSW BUSINESS – Hunt for new opportunities, develop markets and deliver against sales targets.
  • 🏗️ INFLUENCE MAJOR PROJECTS – Get in early, build relationships with key stakeholders and have Armstrong solutions specified from the outset.
  • 🤝 OWN THE RELATIONSHIPS – Grow major accounts, strengthen partnerships and open doors to new customers.
  • 🎯 TAKE IT FROM SPEC TO CLOSE – Own your pipeline, quotes and tenders, keep momentum high and turn opportunities into results.
  • 💡 SELL SOLUTIONS – Combine technical understanding with commercial thinking to solve customer challenges and create value.
  • 🌏 COLLABORATE TO WIN – Work across Project Management, Customer Experience, Operations, Sales and Marketing to deliver outstanding outcomes.

About You

You’re commercially minded, energetic and confident in the field. You understand the construction environment, know how to build credibility quickly and have the drive to turn conversations into opportunities.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience in building products, construction or technical solution-based sales
  • Strong relationship-building, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Experience with quoting, estimating and/or tendering
  • The ability to understand construction drawings, including Reflected Ceiling Plans (RCPs)
  • Commercial acumen and a genuine appetite for winning business
  • The confidence to engage with stakeholders from site through to senior decision-makers
  • The initiative to manage your own day, find opportunities and make things happen.

(Experience within ceilings, architectural finishes, acoustic solutions, partitions, insulation, or related building products will be highly regarded.)

This role is more than maintaining existing accounts. It’s about spotting what’s next, getting in early, winning the specification and growing the business.

And importantly, we like people who bring ideas, take ownership and enjoy what they do. If you’re curious, competitive in the right way and like a good laugh along the way, you’ll fit right in.

Why join Armstrong?

Our people stay because they're given autonomy, support and the opportunity to build genuine, rewarding industry relationships.

We offer:

  • Competitive salary package including fully maintained company vehicle, performance incentives and tools of the trade (laptop and phone)
  • Exposure to landmark commercial projects
  • High autonomy role with strategic influence
  • Collaborative national sales team and comprehensive technical training
  • Established customer base with strong brand recognition
  • Opportunity to influence projects years before construction
  • Stable international business with long-term investment

Most importantly, you'll work on some of Australia's most recognised commercial construction projects while building lasting relationships across the industry.

Ready to build something bigger?

If you’re a relationship builder, opportunity hunter and commercially savvy sales professional ready to make your mark across NSW, this is your opportunity to step up, make an impact and build what’s next.
