Job Description

Business Development Manager – Mental Health & Learning Disabilities (MH/LD) UK (Hybrid/Remote)
Competitive Salary + Commission + Benefits (DOE)
A dynamic and rapidly expanding healthcare provider is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead the launch and growth of its Mental Health & Learning Disabilities (MH/LD) division. Having achieved significant success within nursing and complex care staffing, the organisation is now investing in expanding its service offering into MH/LD.
This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in building a division from the ground up within a business known for its strong delivery, clinical quality, and commitment to service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and growth of the MH/LD division
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities across NHS and private sectors
  • Build relationships with local authorities, NHS trusts, and specialist providers
  • Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy for MH/LD services
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure high-quality service delivery
  • Manage the full sales lifecycle from prospecting to contract award
  • Attend industry events and build a strong professional network
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity

Requirements
  • Proven experience in business development within mental health and/or learning disabilities
  • Strong network within NHS, local authorities, or specialist care providers
  • Track record of winning new business and developing service lines
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build and scale a division
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Self-motivated and target-driven
