The position is based in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan and will play a key role in driving market development, strengthening customer relationships, and aligning local operations with the group’s global strategy.
Reporting to the Senior Business Development Indonesia, you will be responsible for driving market development and partner performance across Indonesia, in line with the Group’s Southeast Asia strategy. Acting as the key commercial and strategic interface between the local market and the regional organization, you will focus on developing key business segments including EPC, end-user, and OEM markets, with priority industries such as Oil & Gas, Chemicals, LNG, Palm Oil, Mining & Processing. This includes continuously monitoring market dynamics, conducting market research to support a stable and sustainable growth strategy, and providing regular updates on competitor activities and positioning. You will identify new market opportunities, support entry into new segments, and work towards securing Approved Manufacturer List (AML) status with targeted customers. In addition, you will manage and update the Business Development Plan, maintain strong relationships with existing customers and partners, ensure timely CRM reporting, monitor partner order intake against targets, and represent the company with strong technical competence in meetings, exhibitions, and customer engagements.
A key part of the role also involves supporting and developing local partners to strengthen market coverage. This includes identifying and onboarding competent partners for specific market segments, defining sales territories, and enhancing partner capabilities in terms of sales structure, service, and market strategy. You will conduct regular partner visits to ensure strong product knowledge and effective use of company tools, while also identifying potential Authorized Repair Centres within designated territories. Internally, you will ensure accurate and up-to-date customer data in the CRM system, submit visit reports, and work closely with the internal sales team to align on opportunities and ensure effective follow-up by partners.
• You hold a Mechanical, Instrumentation, Process, or Chemical Engineering degree, providing a strong technical foundation for industrial applications.
• You bring proven business development experience within the valve, pump, or instrumentation industry, including direct experience working with competitors, giving you a sharp understanding of market positioning and competitive dynamics.
• You demonstrate strong expertise in developing EPC, OEM, and End User markets, with the ability to identify strategic opportunities, conduct continuous market research, and implement structured business development plans that support sustainable market growth.
• You are experienced in building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders, ensuring effective communication, timely follow-up on opportunities, and alignment between market expectations and company strategy.
• You are comfortable representing the company in technical and commercial discussions, demonstrating sufficient product and application knowledge to engage confidently with customers, support partner sales teams, and contribute to successful project opportunities.
• You are fluent in Indonesian, both written and spoken, and able to communicate effectively in English Knowledge of German is an advantage.
• You are recognized for your professional integrity, consistently demonstrating transparency, honesty, and fairness in client relationships, partner engagement, and internal collaboration.
