of the role
The open position is for a Business Development Manager for the Grid Stability division in Hydropower to cover the markets in the US and Canada. The role is expected to be based in Charlotte, NC- USA or Montreal, Quebec- Canada

· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or must have relevant experience;
· Minimum 7 years of experience in business development or customer account management in a similar industry (preferred transmission industry with established contacts);
· Demonstrated success in securing orders and building customer relationships on a long term basis;
· Knowledge of commercial contracts and technical specification process for equipment sales;
· Effective communication skills (oral & written) in a multi-stakeholder environment – required: English / French
· Willing to travel extensively, mainly across US and inclusive of Canada – up to 50%;
· Result oriented, independent, innovative, and dynamic;
· Knowledge of products, technical aspects and market related to grid stability and synchronous condenser business desired (an asset);
· Ability to build up & create an efficient contact network.
