About your role

Drive growth and build meaningful partnerships with IXOM’s Life Sciences Food Ingredients business. In this role, you’ll own and grow a diverse customer portfolio, uncover new opportunities, and deliver value through IXOM’s specialist product range. You’ll work closely with Product and Business Managers to shape strategy, execute growth initiatives, and influence business performance.

Success comes from your ability to understand customer needs, nurture multi‑level relationships, and represent IXOM across the food, beverage and nutrition sectors. As a trusted partner to procurement, technical and marketing teams, you’ll provide responsive account management and tailored solutions backed by IXOM’s strong industry presence and manufacturing capability

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all customer and product SH&E requirements are met, with timely closure of actions and effective root‑cause resolution.
  • Drive profitability by identifying growth opportunities and maintaining a strong pipeline of new and existing business.
  • Generate and qualify leads through proactive customer engagement across visits, calls, and written communication.
  • Review account performance to prioritise focus areas and maximise long‑term revenue and margin.
  • Negotiate, manage, and close contracts while collaborating with internal teams to deliver tailored product and supply‑chain solutions.
  • Provide market intelligence and insights to support pricing decisions, product planning, and broader business strategy.
  • Analyse customer sales data to uncover margin improvement opportunities and inform account planning.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new customers, ensuring accurate CRM data and effective account ownership.
  • Provide product recommendations and market innovations to support customers.
  • Manage customer issues, track sales processes, and support debtor management to ensure operational excellence.
  • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting while ensuring revenue and gross margin targets are achieved.
  • Conduct market research, collaborate with product managers and customer’s R&D on new product introductions, support marketing activities, and represent the company at industry events.

Who are we looking for?

  • Experience in Food, Beverage and Nutritional industries would be advantageous
  • Experience in B2B sales
  • Ability to proactively find, engage, and acquire new business (Hunter mentality)
  • Proven track record in developing business
  • Experience in using CRM systems
  • Negotiation and influencing skills and ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders
  • A tertiary qualification in Food Technology or Food Science is preferred but not essential.
  • Dynamic and responsive to customers’ needs
