Business Development Manager, Events & Functions

PARRA Group is one of Western Sydney's leading hospitality, entertainment and leisure organisations, operating a diverse portfolio of venues including Parramatta Leagues Club, Vikings Sports Club, Dural Club and Pitt Town Sports.

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager, Events & Functions to lead the growth of our events and functions business across our venue portfolio while playing a key role in the future success of the exciting PARRA Live precinct launching in 2028.

A unique feature of this role is the opportunity to be involved in the commercial development of PARRA Live, PARRA Group's future entertainment and events precinct. You will help establish sales pipelines, build key partnerships and position the precinct as a leading destination for corporate events, conferences, celebrations and entertainment across Western Sydney.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager Marketing, with a close working relationship with the Food & Beverage team, you will be responsible for driving event and function revenue growth, increasing venue utilisation and expanding PARRA Group's presence in the corporate, community, wedding and private events markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive new business acquisition and revenue growth across all event and function channels.
• Identify and convert opportunities within corporate, community, wedding and private event markets.
• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of future business opportunities.
• Develop and nurture relationships with clients, event planners, suppliers and industry partners.
• Represent PARRA Group at networking events, trade shows and industry showcases.
• Play a key role in establishing PARRA Live as Western Sydney's premier entertainment, events and functions destination by developing a pipeline of future bookings, strategic partnerships and corporate opportunities ahead of launch.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to develop go-to-market strategies, sales initiatives and launch campaigns that maximise awareness and commercial success for PARRA Live.
• Lead, coach and develop Event Coordinators to achieve sales and service objectives.
• Monitor performance, conversion rates and sales outcomes to drive continuous improvement.
• Contribute to the strategic growth and future direction of the Events & Functions business across the PARRA Group.

About You

We're looking for an energetic and commercially focused professional who combines strong relationship-building skills with a proven track record of achieving sales results.

You will bring:

• 5+ years' experience in business development, sales or commercial roles within hospitality, events, tourism, entertainment, hotels or related industries.
• Demonstrated success securing new business and achieving revenue growth targets.
• Strong networking, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience managing sales pipelines, forecasts and conversion strategies.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
• Proven leadership experience developing high-performing teams.
• Experience in multi-site hospitality, venue or events environments will be highly regarded

Qualifications & Requirements

Essential

• Tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, Tourism, Events Management or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Current NSW RSA and RCG certifications.
• Current driver's licence.

Desirable

• Formal sales or business development training.
• Professional industry memberships and networks.
• Additional qualifications in hospitality, tourism, events or commercial management.
