Job Description

H-Power is a UK-based, AIM-listed clean energy company developing zero-emissions hydrogen power systems. Using ammonia to produce low-carbon hydrogen at the point of need, and fuel cells to convert it into reliable, off-grid power, H-Power offers a scalable, practical alternative to fossil fuels, serving construction, infrastructure, transport and power generation sectors.

Behind the technology is a team driven by a shared purpose: to accelerate the shift away from fossil fuels.

The Role

As a Business Development Manageryou will lead the growth of H-Power’s fuel cell generator business across Europe, building a strong pipeline of opportunities within the construction, temporary power and equipment rental markets. The role will initially focus on fuel cell generators, with scope to expand into ammonia cracker technologies over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the European business development strategy for H-Power’s fuel cell generator portfolio.

  • Generate new opportunities and expand an existing pipeline of qualified leads.

  • Build relationships with generator manufacturers, distributors, rental companies and end users.

  • Arrange and lead customer meetings, presentations and commercial discussions across priority European markets.

  • Negotiate commercial agreements and support the preparation of proposals, pricing and contracts.

  • Provide market intelligence and competitor insights to support product and investment decisions.

  • Work closely with technical, product and operations teams to align customer requirements with delivery capability.

  • Represent H-Power at industry events, exhibitions and customer sites across Europe.

  • Take increasing ownership of the European commercial function as the business scales.

Requirements

  • Proven business development or commercial experience within the generator, distributed power, equipment rental or clean energy sectors.

  • Strong network across the European generator market with an existing book of contacts.

  • Experience selling complex technical systems or capital equipment.

  • Knowledge of fuel cells, hydrogen technologies or adjacent energy sectors would be advantageous.

  • German language skills are highly desirable.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and build new markets.

  • Commercially driven, outgoing and comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders.

  • Willingness to travel extensively across Europe and attend monthly meetings with the UK commercial team.
