Job Description

In this position you will be responsible for the management and education of patients regarding his/her access care and the relationships with all dialysis patients, nephrology practices and dialysis centers in the marketplace.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop the market strategy to ensure clinic budget goals and objectives are achieved for patient volumes.
  • Drives business development and growth. Responsible for creating and executing patient acquisition and retention strategies. Leads dialysis center marketing efforts including clinic visits, marketing material assembly and distribution, and manages information sessions such as Lunch and Learn events for dialysis center staff.
  • Works directly with nephrologists and their practices, including associated Nurse Practitioners, Physician’s Assistants, RNs and other office staff to coordinate and manage new access referral and maintenance of dialysis access.
  • Representative of PVG and primary liaison for access care between PVG and nephrology practices, as well as dialysis centers. Will identify relevant clinical information and provide communication between physicians to facilitate further assessment and resolution of any issues.
  • Works to improve patient attendance for all appointments. Access Coordinator will identify patient specific root causes for missed appointments and collaborate with dialysis center staff to assist the patient to ensure appointment compliance and coordination of care.
  • Defines and adjusts the business development strategy to meet the specific needs of each dialysis clinic. Identifies and acts upon the individual needs of patients, rounding physicians, and dialysis center staff.
  • Utilizes electronic charting system for patient scheduling, documentation of relevant patient information, and communication to physician and office staff.

  • Basic medical terminology and knowledge of medical specialties and insurance is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship building, and customer service skills are necessary
  • Solid presentation skills.
  • Project Management skills
  • Ability to manage a budget
  • Ability to establish a marketing plan, evaluate it for success and adjust plan as needed
  • Possesses a self-motivated and self-directed initiative.
  • Ability to work unsupervised in the field and remain focused on company and personal goals and objectives
  • Outstanding time management and a proven ability to follow up on multiple objectives concurrently.
  • Must be organized, efficient, and outgoing.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from patients.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • EHR experience preferred.

Education and Experience Required

  • RN preferred (graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, current Ohio licensure).
  • Minimum one year of Marketing/ Business Development experience required
  • ACLS & BLS: Required for RNs; all others preferred
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
