Job Description

Job Summary:

Achieving significantly accelerating the prospection of existing and new markets segments to position the division value proposition and create long term business relationship with current and future key players. For that reason we are seeking a highly effective commercial and technical engineer to expand business and drive the company’s revenue growth in Japan.

To enable the growth plan, a position of Business Development Engineer for Japan is being created. The person will have a specific focus on building customer intimacy at all levels working together with the marketing teams

Detailed Descrption:

Prime accountability will be on the identification and successful conclusion of new business opportunities with identified market leaders in their respective segments.

This includes:

• Customers segmentation and identification of market leaders
• Analyze, manage & report on market developments and opportunities
• Develop strategies and execute agreed BD plans with associated key performance metrics
• Provide Voice of Customer & Voice of Market analysis for 1-5 year horizon
• Promotion campaigns using market segment Sales Kit
• Engage with key stakeholders including senior executives to understand customers’ value proposition to its customers so as to present the Te2v value proposition
• Building tailored / unique solutions
• Support design-in activities of the defined solutions highlighting “Solution Selling”
• Manage opportunities and pipeline through the SalesForce.com
• Order intake (bookings) to achieve the sales plan and business plan of the business

Requirements:

Sales & Business Development Leadership

• Suitable Graduate Qualification(s) in Commerce, Business Studies, Science or Engineering
• 2-10 years experience in commercial leadership (sales, marketing and business development) in Imaging Industry (Camera or CCD/CMOS Sensor)
• Experience of selling custom solutions/sensors is a plus
• Deep knowledge of Japan business environment, markets, culture etc.
• Established track record of delivering sales growth by identifying and winning New Business Opportunities (NBOs) working at all levels (from line to senior level management).
• Highly developed sales and business development skills and a hands-on “pioneering” approach to market development including:
• Discover: research and identify opportunities with existing/new customers including “voice of market” and “voice of customer” insights
• Develop: introduce Teledyne e2v products & solutions focused on key differentiators and “Challenger” selling insights and Solution Selling methodology
• Identify and articulate ‘’win-win” scenarios
• A self-starter, with a strong bias-for-action
• Thrives on opportunities to launch new products, build new customer relationship and quick to see opportunities to extend & expand business with existing customers
• Innovative, constantly looking for new sales approach

Communications

• Listening, probing and analysis skills to capture & articulate VoM and VoC
• A highly effective bridge-builder linking Teledyne e2v stakeholders to customers
• Highly developed presentation skills to internal & external customers/stakeholders
• Fluent in English and German; French and Spanish would be an advantage.

Mobility:

The individual will have to travel over 50% of his time within Japan region
