Job Description

Business Development Manager

Based in Redcliffe, WA | Full-time | 10-hour days | Regular site and client travel

$175,000 - $195,000 per annum + Superannuation + Performance Incentive

Daltech is entering its next phase of growth, and the Business Development Manager will provide the market insight, industry expertise, and strategic leadership required to drive sustainable growth and strengthen our position within the mining and resources sector.

This is not a traditional sales role. It's a strategic position focused on understanding industry trends, identifying emerging opportunities, and aligning client challenges with Daltech's capabilities.

Working closely with the executive leadership team, you will identify growth opportunities, shape market strategy, build influential industry relationships, and provide insights into evolving customer needs, operational challenges, and future investment cycles. Leveraging your understanding of mining operations, asset maintenance, heavy equipment, and industrial services, you will help convert market intelligence into long-term value for both our clients and our business.

The Opportunity

As our Business Development Manager, you will:

  • Develop and execute market growth strategies across the mining, resources, civil and industrial sectors.
  • Identify emerging opportunities based on industry trends, capital investment pipelines, maintenance requirements, equipment lifecycle demands and broader market conditions.
  • Build strategic relationships with mining operators, asset owners, OEMs, contractors and key industry stakeholders.
  • Position Daltech's service offering to align with client objectives around reliability, asset performance, maintenance efficiency and operational productivity.
  • Lead strategic engagement activities that convert market opportunities into long-term partnerships and contracted work.
  • Work closely with operational leaders to ensure business development initiatives align with capability, capacity and service excellence.
  • Provide commercial and market intelligence to support business planning, investment decisions and growth priorities.
  • Support tender, proposal and negotiation activities where strategic opportunities are identified.
  • Strengthen Daltech's position as a trusted maintenance and technical services partner within the resources sector.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who combines commercial capability with genuine industry expertise.

You'll stand out if you:

  • Understand the industry – You have a strong grasp of mining, maintenance, asset management and operational environments.
  • Think strategically – You can identify trends, anticipate customer needs and translate market insights into growth opportunities.
  • Build credibility quickly – You develop trusted relationships with both operational and executive stakeholders.
  • Influence outcomes – You bring people together internally and externally to create commercially successful solutions.
  • Take ownership – You are proactive, accountable and focused on delivering measurable business outcomes.
  • See the bigger picture – You understand how customer challenges, market conditions and organisational capability intersect.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Significant experience in business development, strategic account management or commercial leadership within the mining, resources, industrial services or heavy equipment sectors.
  • Strong understanding of mining operations, maintenance strategies, shutdowns, asset management and equipment lifecycle considerations.
  • Demonstrated success identifying, developing and securing strategic growth opportunities.
  • Established industry network and ability to engage effectively with operational leaders, procurement teams and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience evaluating business opportunities, negotiating contracts and developing growth strategies.
  • Proven ability to interpret market trends and translate insights into actionable business plans.

Preferred:

  • Experience in mobile equipment maintenance, field services, component rebuilds or asset reliability environments.
  • Understanding of mining contractor models, procurement frameworks and operational planning cycles.
  • Experience working with OEMs, owner-operators or mining services providers.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, sales planning processes and market intelligence tools.

Requirements:

  • Current C-Class Driver’s Licence
  • Ability to access mine sites (including medicals and inductions as required)

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role will be measured not only by revenue growth, but by your ability to position Daltech for sustainable long-term success.

  • Growth in strategic market share across key mining and industrial sectors.
  • Increased penetration within target mining clients and asset owners.
  • A healthy pipeline of opportunities aligned to Daltech's growth strategy.
  • Diversified revenue streams that reduce customer concentration risk.
  • Strong alignment between market opportunities and operational capability.
  • Improved visibility of future market demand, investment cycles and customer requirements.
  • Growth in long-term contracts and strategic client partnerships.
  • Recognition of Daltech as a trusted maintenance and technical services partner in the resources sector.
