Business Development Manager

Department: Market
Reports To: Chief Market Officer
Location: Doha

The AI Business Development Manager role will be a key driver of growth and market expansion for the company’s AI-driven sustainability Software As a Service solutions in the Middle East region and beyond. This role will focus on identifying and capitalizing on large-scale sustainability initiatives, forging strategic alliances with Smart City providers, consultants, platform providers, and system integrators, and building a robust indirect sales channel. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for creating a healthy pipeline of opportunities, meeting revenue targets, and positioning the company as a leader in AI for sustainability in the region.

This role requires a profile with SaaS experience with a deep understanding of the global market landscape, with a particular focus on the Middle East region , sustainability trends, and digital disruption. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building partnerships, driving revenue growth, and navigating complex ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Market Analysis and Opportunity Identification:

  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify large-scale sustainability initiatives and emerging opportunities, particularly in the Middle East that can be linked to a Digital Software solution based on AI.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to inform business development strategies with a focus that goes beyond the utilities. Other than traditional utilities, who are the players that are shaping the sustainability future? What needs do they have?
  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including Smart City providers, consultants, platform providers, and system integrators.

2. Commercial Partnerships and Indirect channel development

  • Identify opportunities for commercial partnerships to integrate the company’s software tools and AI Assets into third-party offerings or marketplaces.
  • Establish and manage an indirect sales channel, leveraging partners to expand market reach and drive adoption of the company’s solutions, in particular, during the software onboarding and software operations process.
  • Provide training and support to partners, ensuring they are equipped to effectively sell and implement the company’s products.

3. Pipeline Development and Revenue Growth:

  • Identify key stakeholders that have projects or demand AI SaaS products from the portfolio.
  • Create and maintain a healthy pipeline of business opportunities to meet or exceed revenue targets in the Energy users, and energy stakeholders.
  • Monitor and report on pipeline progress, ensuring alignment with company goals.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with product, marketing, and technical teams to align business development efforts with company capabilities and priorities.
  • Provide market feedback to inform product development and innovation.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or partnership roles in the Software as a Service industry.
  • Know-how of AI technology and sustainability themes.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and building strategic alliances in the Middle East.
  • Experience working with Smart City providers, consultants, platform providers, or system integrators is highly desirable.

Skills and Competencies:.

  • Software as a Service Business Model: core understanding of SaaS and PaaS business Model and its customer lifecycle, from initial contacts to billing and operations.
  • Relationship Building: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and foster collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
  • Negotiation: negotiation skills with a proven ability to close deals.
  • Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of the, sustainability trends, and digital disruption, particularly in the Middle East market.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable navigating ambiguity and thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Stakeholders map turned into meaningful contacts.
  • Number and value of commercial partnerships established.
  • Revenue generated from the target markets.
  • Size and health of the business development pipeline.
  • Partner satisfaction and engagement levels.
