Job Description

Ready to lead growth with one of Australia’s top event agencies?

We’re looking for a commercially driven Business Development Manager to be based in either Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane to help lead Arinex’ next phase of growth.

This role suits a proven sales performer who thrives on owning their pipeline, closing high-value deals, and bringing those wins to life. You’ll lead opportunities end‑to‑end across conferences, incentives and destination programs nationwide, building strong, lasting client relationships.

At Arinex, you’ll represent a market-leading Australasian brand with global capability and a reputation for delivering at the top end of the industry. You’ll own the Australian market — building pipeline and partnering with clients to shape solutions that deliver real impact.

Backed by a high-performing team, you’ll turn opportunities into high-profile, large-scale programs, building long-term partnerships and delivering success for your clients and the business.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Identify and land new opportunities across conferences, corporate events, incentives and destination programs
  • Build a strong pipeline through proactive outreach, networking and industry engagement
  • Lead proposals end-to-end — from shaping the idea through to pricing, negotiation and sign-off
  • Create smart, compelling event solutions that leverage Arinex’ national footprint
  • Build genuine, long-term relationships with clients, partners and key decision-makers
  • Represent Arinex at industry events, trade shows and client meetings
  • Keep a clear view of pipeline and performance using Salesforce
  • Share market insight and ideas to continuously strengthen how we go to market

Leading Clients & Delivery

  • Act as a senior client lead on key projects — building trust and ensuring a great experience throughout
  • Stay close to delivery teams to ensure a smooth handover from sale to execution
  • Oversee major events and programs to keep them on track, on budget and aligned to client expectations
  • Bring teams together across PCO and DMC to deliver seamless outcomes
  • Manage risk, timelines and budgets with confidence
  • Lead post-event reviews and identify opportunities to grow accounts further
  • Contribute to shaping the future growth of the Australian business

What You’ll Bring

  • Around 3+ years’ experience in business events, conferences or the MICE industry
  • Proven ability to win business and build strong client relationships
  • Experience managing projects or event delivery end-to-end
  • Strong commercial thinking — comfortable with budgets, pricing and negotiation
  • A confident, clear communicator who connects well with stakeholders at all levels
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Comfortable working across both strategy and hands-on delivery
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM (preferred)

Nice to have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (sales, marketing or similar)
  • Knowledge of the Australian or broader APAC events landscape

Why Join Arinex?

  • Work on high-profile, large-scale events that make an impact
  • Be part of a team that genuinely values ideas, ownership and collaboration
  • Enjoy variety — no two projects (or clients) are the same
  • Grow your career with real opportunity to step into broader leadership
  • Join a business that’s ambitious, evolving and backed by strong capability

What You’ll Get

  • Competitive remuneration with performance-driven incentives
  • Flexible working options
  • Team recognition through monthly and annual awards
  • Travel perks (including IATA benefits after 6 months)
  • Access to industry rates on hotels, travel and experiences
  • Paid volunteer days and wellbeing support (EAP)
  • Clear pathways for internal growth and cross-team opportunities
