A fire and electronic security systems business operating across the Midlands and nationally is making its first dedicated senior commercial hire.
The division provides fire detection, life safety, access control, CCTV and intruder detection systems alongside a growing service and maintenance offering. Until now it has operated without a dedicated BDM resource. This is a growth hire – not a backfill – into a business that has an existing customer base, group account access and a clear commercial growth agenda.
The fire bias in the brief is deliberate. If your background sits more naturally in fire and life safety than in pure security, that is the right fit.
You will be the senior commercial resource in the division, responsible for new business development, key account growth and service and maintenance revenue. You will report directly to the Managing Director.
The level is open depending on the candidate. The role can be structured as BDM working within the division, or as BDD with ownership of the department and staff. Salary reflects both options. The longer-term path is Sales Director – the business has not had one in this division, and the expectation is that the right person builds toward that.

Backgrounds in estimating, sales engineering or pre-sales moving into commercial ownership will also be considered where fire knowledge is strong.
