YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:

The Business Development Manager is responsible for account management activities, including overseeing and managing client relationships, pipeline management, and closing contracts.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Prepare and execute ongoing business development action plan for specific target market(s) and projects as identified in the Divisional Business Plan.

  • Perform and manage research to identify and prioritize potential customers and projects that fall within the Divisional Business plan.

  • Take the lead on introductions and ongoing relationship management between external clients and internal leadership management team.

  • Serve as main liaison to prospective and current customers to ensure all needs are consistently met throughout the pre-construction process.

  • Assist with and coordinate per-construction activities throughout our sales process.

  • Populate and keep current the pipeline of project opportunities in our internal Customer Relationship Management system (CRM). Identify and track long term project pursuits (12 months+). Engage client stakeholders in discussions to identify as much intelligence as possible on projects ahead of internal Go/No-Go decisions

  • Attend professional organization/industry events and be actively involved in the overall community and coordinate local leadership team involvement in said events.

  • Plan, prepare, and host exhibit booths at conferences

  • Coordinate and participate in travel to client locations on a regular basis.

  • Participate in weekly internal preconstruction meeting

  • Evaluate projects against internal risk review requirements. Work with Division Manager to ensure required projects are submitted to internal risk review team per internal procedures.

  • Conduct post proposal interview on unsuccessful opportunities

  • The duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing and other duties will be assigned based on the positions role within the Division/business unit.

WHAT YOU BRING TO US:

  • Knowledge of the construction process (from conception, thru design, to contracting and commissioning). Who are the organizations, firms, stakeholders

  • Ideal candidate will have experience in construction: Estimating, supervision, and/or project management. Superior candidates will have electrical construction business experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related discipline – preferred, not required

  • Can be a combination of education, training, and relevant experience

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Must possess excellent communication skills - both verbal and written, with ability to produce highly professional proposals and presentations.

  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary

  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude

  • Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position

  • Ability to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player

  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others
