Job Description

Provenance is on a mission to empower 1 billion citizens to choose products that match their values, and we're building the tech to make it happen.

Our trusted platform enables transparency on the social and environmental impact of consumer products, and we’re looking for a mission-aligned, tech savvy Business Development Manager to help us drive our next phase of growth at the most exciting time.

Used by 300+ brands and retailers globally (including Holland & Barrett, Ocado, The Hut Group, MECCA) we are the data layer they need to become discoverable and credible to shoppers, LLMs, and AI agents reshaping how consumers buy. The shift to agentic commerce is happening now and we're right at the centre of it.

We're a B Corp-certified social enterprise backed by impact investors, and a London-based team of 16 at a genuinely pivotal moment - scaling our platform for agentic commerce, expanding from hundreds of customers to thousands and laying the foundations for long-term, systemic impact.

“We help brands show proof of what they're claiming - whether that's genuinely vegan, clinically proven, or sustainably made - in a way both people and AI can read and trust. When that proof is visible, spending flows to products that actually deliver, not just the ones with the biggest ad budgets. That's better for shoppers and fairer for the brands doing the right thing.” Sarah Arana-Morton, Provenance CEO

The Role

This is a rare chance to join a fast-growing startup in tech-for-good, owning the full sales cycle from cold prospect to signed contract. You'll report to our Head of Customer Success & Partnerships, working closely with the CEO on more strategic enterprise opportunities and our Senior Marketing Manager on inbound strategy. Our Rev Ops Manager handles the tooling and workflows so you can stay focused on building the pipeline and winning business.

We're targeting beauty, personal care, FMCG and wellness sectors and you'll be building relationships across sustainability, marketing and commerce decision-makers at major brands and retailers.

Contract: Full-time Hybrid Role, London Euston (Tuesday & Thursday in the office)

Salary £45,000-£50,000 basic + commission (depending on level and experience)

Requirements

  • Identify, pitch, negotiate and close new business - from both inbound leads and outbound prospecting
  • Build and manage a qualified pipeline with accurate CRM forecasting (owner and ambassador of HubSpot reporting and analytics)
  • Monitor key metrics (KPIs) such as conversion rates, pipeline tracking, MRR targets
  • Develop targeted strategies for winning major retailers and brands across beauty, personal care, wellness and FMCG sectors
  • Implement and enforce a structured GTM approach across the region, including lead scoring, persona mapping, and use-case alignment
  • Identify and attend industry events and networking forums to represent Provenance and build our network in person
  • Collaborate across teams to align lead generation efforts with Commercial, Product, Engineering and Customer Success objectives
  • Hand off new clients to Customer Success for a seamless onboarding experience
  • Use an AI-first toolkit - including Notion, Claude Cowork, HubSpot, Clay, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator to drive productivity, performance and pace.

What we’re looking for

  • 2–5 years B2B sales experience, ideally in retail tech, loyalty or data-driven solutions
  • A track record of hitting and exceeding targets, with the examples to back it up
  • Experience selling to brand, marketing or sustainability decision-makers in beauty, wellness or FMCG
  • Comfortable navigating complex corporate buying processes
  • An AI-first approach to productivity (not just in theory)
  • Previous experience and preference to work in an early or mid-stage company where you know how to operate without a big team behind you

And as a person: you care about sustainability and social impact, you can adapt your pitch to different buyer profiles, and you bring energy and commercial instinct to everything you do.

Benefits

  • Employee share option program (own a part of Provenance!)
  • 25 days annual holiday + birthday off + long term service holiday benefits.
  • £1,000 annual learning and development budget
  • Wellbeing allowance (£50 per quarter)
  • Access to YuLife Wellbeing Platform with 24 Virtual GP access and Employee Assistance Programme
  • Generous Enhanced Parental Leave policies
  • Flexible working options - Hybrid work set-up with 2 days per week at our HQ at the Impact Hub in Euston London. Slow travel incentives, compressed hours options and work from anywhere policy
  • Team workshops, monthly socials, quarterly away days, team volunteering and more!

The Interview Process

  • 15 min intro call with Head of People
  • Deep dive experience with CEO and Head of CS & Partnerships
  • Task Set & discussion
  • Culture Coffee & meet the team (in person)
