About the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation

The Western Bulldogs Community Foundation (WBCF) is nation-leading organisation that uses the power of sport to deliver life-changing programs.

Established by the Western Bulldogs Football Club in 2012 as a separate entity, the foundation uses the trusted brand of the club to deliver programs that give everybody the opportunity to thrive. With a focus on young people, gender equity, prevention of family violence, diversity, inclusion, and community wellbeing, our programs reach over 5000 people, from Melbourne's inner west, right out to the South Australian border.

The WBCF is registered as a Public Benevolent Institution with DGR status and its own Board. The WBCF is also an accredited social enterprise with Social Traders. Funded by local, state, and federal government and partners including Major Partner WorkSafe Victoria, our programs are designed in collaboration with the community and are rigorously independently evaluated by Victoria University each year to ensure they remain best practice and drive positive change.

Your contribution to the team includes


Reporting to the Head of Partnerships, Marketing & Communications, the Business Development Manager is responsible for driving new business and strategic growth for the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation (WBCF) by securing new corporate partnerships and maximising income generated through its social enterprise activities.

The role is also responsible for:

  • Proactively identifying, researching and contacting new corporate and social enterprise opportunities to build a robust, qualified pipeline of prospects aligned with Foundation priorities.
  • Leading the development of pitches, proposals or product offerings tailored to each prospect, positioning the foundation as a strategic partner.
  • Identifying new opportunities for innovation in program development and/or social enterprise offerings aligned with the Foundation's Theory of Change, market trends, industry interests and partner feedback.
  • Developing and managing the foundations partnerships annual and new business plan and budget, ensuring plans and targets are accurate, strategic, and achievable.
  • Developing regular reporting against plans and budgets, providing analysis and recommendations to inform forecasting and Foundation priorities.
  • Collaborating with relevant internal departments to align priorities and maximise partnership opportunities and value.

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in developing new business/corporate partnerships for revenue growth, including an understanding of corporate fundraising for not for profits and of the social enterprise sector
  • demonstrated experience in managing and stewarding partners and clients for retention and maximum revenue
  • highly developed organisational and project management skills with demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritise workloads
  • highly developed interpersonal and communication skills to develop, nurture and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including public speaking, presentation and reporting skills
  • a genuine passion for the foundations vision and a commitment to making a positive social impact through partnerships and social enterprise.
  • a tertiary qualification in business, marketing, or related field preferred.
  • demonstrated experience using tools including Salesforce, Strategic Grants GEM, Prospector and/or LinkedIn Sales Navigator and MS Office Suite
