Within DEME Concessions, a part of the DEME Group, we act as project developer and equity investor, enabling long-term projects in ports, maritime infrastructure, offshore wind and green hydrogen. To support our expanding activities, DEME Concessions is strengthening its team with a Business Development Manager focused on the ports and maritime infrastructure market. In this role, you will be directly involved in multidisciplinary, international project development teams, contributing from early concept through to commercial operations. You will be primarily based at DEME’s HQ in Belgium, with flexibility regarding location and projects, and you will travel regularly on a fly‑in/fly‑out basis for short-term international business trips
Developing complex projects during inception, tender phase, due diligence, deal closing and actual commercial operations;
Investigating the feasibility and market analysis of business opportunities for DEME Concessions in the ports, maritime and infrastructure and other related sectors;
Developing the business of DEME Concessions by maintaining relationships with industrial and financial partners, and by gathering of information on prospective business opportunities and new markets;
Structuring complex projects, by (i) finding suitable joint venture partners, (ii) setting up the project finance aspects, (iii) structuring the contractual arrangements, such as shareholder agreements, concession agreements and EPC agreements and (iv) organizing the project management of advisors and supporting departments of DEME to ensure a successful completion; and
Financially analyze the project impact at the group level, from a risk and return on equity perspective.
University degree in a technical/ scientific field, complemented with an economic expertise through an MBA or alike, or relevant experience in finance; or University degree major in finance or economy or similar through experience or an MBA, complemented with affinity for the marine ports sector and DEME as a marine engineering contractor;
A prior experience in project finance, financial/ strategic consulting or banking;
Excellent in business English, Dutch is an asset;
Affinity with ports, shipping and marine infrastructure industry;
