Seeking an experienced engineering leader responsible for business development, financial performance, and staff management at the local departmental level.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Coordinate strategic growth initiatives with office and practice leadership
Establish and expand market presence through marketing and business development efforts
Manage departmental budget and allocate resources based on project and business needs
Lead and contribute to proposal development and submissions
Serve as a technical resource for project managers and technical staff
Identify staffing needs and oversee recruitment for the department
Conduct interviews and hire qualified personnel
Perform staff evaluations with input from project managers
Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to team members, including setting goals, offering feedback, and supporting professional development through regular check-ins
Nonessential Functions:
Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited institution
Licensed Professional Engineer
10+ years of experience in a relevant discipline
Proven experience in project management and business development
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Experience:
Familiarity with working with public sector clients at the local and state level
Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
Working Conditions:
Work is primarily conducted in a standard office setting
May involve periods of sitting, with occasional standing and walking
Office environment includes adequate lighting, temperature control, and minimal noise or disruption
