You will serve as the primary growth engine for the data center connectivity division, leveraging your deep technical understanding of low voltage and fiber optic systems to build trust, navigate complex procurement cycles, and deliver customized, high-value solutions. You will own the full sales lifecycle from initial prospecting and relationship building to RFP strategy, contract negotiation, and handoff to the operations team.

  • Account & Relationship Management: Cultivate deep, long-term relationships with key decision-makers, including data center facility managers, procurement directors, network engineers, and general contractors.
  • Technical Consultation: Act as a subject matter expert in client meetings, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of high-density fiber deployments (MTP/MPO, ribbon splicing), structured cabling (Cat6A), and overall ISP data center topologies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with internal estimating, engineering, and operations teams (including Foremen and Project Managers) to ensure proposed solutions are technically viable, properly scoped, and accurately priced.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging hyperscaler connectivity standards to continuously refine our market positioning and value proposition.

The ideal candidate will need to be based in or around Columbus, OH or Philadelphia, PA and will require significant nationwide travel. Salary range is $125-150,000 per year

What you’ll need

  • Sales & Negotiation: Proven track record of closing multi-million-dollar infrastructure, construction, or technology contracts. Exceptional negotiation and contract structuring skills.
  • Technical Acumen: Deep working knowledge of data center inside plant (ISP) infrastructure, including spine-and-leaf architectures, fiber optic testing and certification standards, and low voltage physical layer topologies.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Travel: Requires significant travel (often 50% or more) to client sites, active data center construction sites, and industry conferences across the country.
  • Hours: Flexible but demanding schedule driven by client needs, RFP deadlines, and varied time zones.
  • Conditions: Primarily a professional office/remote environment, but site visits require the ability to navigate active construction zones and adhere to strict data center safety protocols and PPE requirements.
