Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepares distinct action plans in line with the overall business and sales strategies to ensure a targeted and focused approach that consistently contributes to the overall growth aims of the business
  • In-charge of developing new businesses, generating new sales opportunities and managing key accounts in order to meet required revenue targets in the assigned market segment and/or geographical location
  • Meet the assigned sales/revenue targets as set and agreed with the business manager

Specific Responsibilities

  • In conjunction with overall sales strategy and targets, the BDE shall create sales & marketing plans to grow SGS revenue for the designated industry, market segment, accounts, and/or geographical location
  • Ensure familiarization and strict compliance with the business process/model and apply innovations/improvements based on the need of the current system
  • Conduct, review, and update the market analysis to determine the industry needs, pricing, trends, and competition’s development & movement to capture business opportunities to achieve the target revenue and growth.
  • With the market analysis:
    • Estimate the demands for proposed projects based on market research and customer trends
    • Evaluate the financial impact of sales of services to new and existing customers
    • Identify and establish network with key industry players (current and potential clients) to close opportunities and sales in contribution to the business’ revenue growth
    • Maintain positive relationships with current and potential clients through consistent professional customer engagement
    • Anticipate, identify, and empathize with client’s needs and pain points and eventually translate them into sales opportunities and growth
  • Prepare costing, service proposals, service agreements, and tenders that are customized to client’s requirements within the set deadlines
  • Ensure that reports are accurate, meets the objective of the client, and submitted on/or before the committed date of reporting
    • Monitor the client’s satisfaction with the service provided
    • Ensuring timely issuance of invoices and timely settlement/collection of account receivables
  • Resolve customer complaints with “malasakit” by addressing the problem, facilitating the development of solutions, preparing reports/updates, and making recommendations to the operations team
  • Effectively promote pricing excellence and may represent as the pricing champion for the team
  • Collaborate on marketing campaigns and promotions of the business line or SGS as a whole
  • Participate in the annual budget planning process and strategic management
  • At all times, adopt safe behavior by exercising due regard for the health and safety of SGS employees and clients, in line with SGS policies and procedures
  • At all times, comply with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct
  • Performs other related duties as may be assigned either in collaboration or departmental goals or for his/her personal or professional training, education, or development as programmed by his/her immediate superior
  • Complies with the Quality, Health and Safety, Environment and Energy (QHSEE) policies and supporting objectives including, but not limited to:
  • Demonstrates strong commitment to SGS QHSEE policies, procedures and work instructions by actively participating in meetings, projects and events, completes required training, intervenes in unsafe situations, refuses unsafe work, and complies fully with all applicable laws and regulations related to HSEE
  • Responds appropriately and immediately to emergency situations and assists other staff members in maintaining readiness to respond to emergencies within the workplace
  • Disposes or directs the disposal of waste generated as a part of daily work performed in a safe manner and in compliance with the disposal regulations and requirements, and in accordance with SGS Environmental Management System requirements
  • Reports all incidents, including near misses and hazards, that may affect the achievement of QHSEE objectives in accordance with SGS Incident Reporting and Management requirements
  • Efficiently uses all equipment, including safety equipment, and company owned property in the manner intended and reports any damaged / lost equipment to immediate superior
  • Maintains a safe and tidy worksite according to the organization’s 5S program and guidelines
  • Maintains awareness of the safety and health related hazards and environmental aspects and proposes action plans to control the risks to immediate superior or QHSEE Coordinators
  • Actively participates in incident investigations and risk assessments as deemed necessary by SGS management
  • Fulfills the requirements needed in the success of the QHSEE Management System
  • Recognizes the potential consequences of not following the established policies, procedures, and guidelines, including not fulfilling the organization’s compliance obligations

Qualifications

  • Graduate of engineering degree (mechanical, chemical, petroleum, and industrial), or business-related degree
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in sales and/or business development field
  • Experience in energy, oil & gas, manufacturing industries/sectors, storage tank inspections and calibrations is an advantage

  • Knowledge in energy, oil & gas, construction, and/or manufacturing industries/sectors (stakeholders, trends/shifts, competition, processes, regulations & guidelines, etc.)
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, networking, and social skills and the ability to use these skills in translating effective sales and business development into tangible results
  • With knowledge in preparing cost worksheets, drafting proposals, sales negotiations with the client, and expense monitoring
  • Ability to make cold calls, facilitate email marketing, and conduct client presentations (small-large audience)
  • Ability to adopt and adapt a flexible approach to effectively strategize and act to a fast-phased changing environment
  • Ability to work independently but is also a team player
  • Knowledge computer applications e.g. Word, Excel, PPT, PDF and willing to learn in utilizing CRM tool e.g. Salesforce
