About the role

Northline is seeking a driven and commercially focused Business Development Executive to support the continued growth and profitability of our business. This role is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities while meeting agreed revenue targets across Freight, Warehousing & Distribution, International Freight Forwarding, and the Mining, Construction, Oil & Gas sectors.

In this role, you will focus on market expansion by identifying prospects, developing tailored solutions, and building strong customer relationships that deliver sustainable outcomes for Northline. Working closely with internal stakeholders across Sales, Marketing and Operations, you will play a key role in driving new business and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities within your designated region through market research and lead generation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date opportunity and activity records in the CRM system.
  • Prepare capability presentations in collaboration with internal stakeholders, aligned to Northline’s service offerings.
  • Compile proposals in line with Northline policies, pricing structures and approval processes.
  • Communicate successful proposals internally, ensuring clarity around client requirements and service expectations.
  • Liaise with the Marketing and Tender team to support tender opportunities and submissions.
  • Support the onboarding of new customers by coordinating training and implementation activities.
  • Monitor competitor activity and industry trends, maintaining insights to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop targeted campaigns and promotional initiatives.
  • Meet and exceed agreed revenue targets and KPIs through proactive engagement and relationship management.
  • Maintain compliance with administrative, pricing and call standard requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by reviewing processes and recommending efficiencies.

About you

You are a self-motivated and resilient sales professional with a strong customer focus and a demonstrated ability to achieve revenue targets. You bring sound business acumen and a solid understanding of the freight and logistics industry, along with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

You are professional, organised and adaptable, with the confidence to engage customers, present solutions and contribute collaboratively to shared business goals.

You will also be able to demonstrate your:
