Welcome to SSC Space, an exciting workplace for those passionate about science and technology in general, and space in particular.
With space organizations, research institutes, institutional and commercial actors as customers, we offer specialist expertise in satellite communications, space consulting services, rocket and balloon systems, flight test services, satellite propulsion systems, and much more.
SSC Space also has one of the world’s largest global networks of ground stations for satellite communications. We own and operate the Esrange Space Center in Kiruna, northern Sweden, with the aim of launching satellites in the near future.
For more than 50 years, SSC Space has been a leading provider of sounding rocket and stratospheric balloon launches from Esrange Space Center. We are now looking for a Business Development Engineer who wants to help develop the next chapter of this business.
This is a technically oriented business development role where you will combine customer engagement, commercial development and technical coordination. You will build relationships with existing and potential customers and develop business opportunities connected to student programs, sounding rockets and stratospheric balloons.
You will be involved throughout the sales process, from identifying opportunities and shaping service offerings to developing proposals, negotiating contracts and supporting long-term customer relationships. The role has an international scope and includes customer visits, conferences and collaboration with technical experts across SSC Space.
We believe you are commercially minded, technically curious and comfortable building relationships across different cultures and professional environments. You can contribute to technical discussions while maintaining a clear focus on customer needs and business opportunities.
Swedish language skills and previous experience in business development, technical sales or another customer-facing commercial role are considered an advantage.
As the role involves international customer engagement, you should be willing and able to travel regularly.
This is a full-time, permanent position based at Esrange Space Center outside of Kiruna.
