Allen-Sherman-Hoff LLC, a material handling company of the Andritz Company, is looking for an A-S-H Business Development Engineer. This position is a contributor that works with cross-functional teams to directly service our customers with technical expertise on the vast material handling products and services A-S-H provides. The role will be multifaceted which includes direct customer on-site evaluation, system process development, and equipment design. The position will be responsible for developing large to small project opportunities and growing the valuable aftermarket parts business. The target market consists of all material handling including traditional bottom and fly ash transport systems and expanding A-S-H’s reach into new industries and associated customers. Additional duties comprise of working closely with the current A-S-H teams and providing technical consultation in a solution-oriented way while driving an increased level of business across the organization
Development of new business opportunities in existing and new markets while working with internal A-S-H Sales and Field Evaluation personnel.
Evaluate proposal opportunities and develop engineered systems and equipment solutions based on customer supplied data and specifications and work with internal A-S-H Proposal Managers to develop quotes based on those evaluations.
Perform preliminary equipment sizing calculations, piping and equipment layouts, and prepare process and flow diagrams for use in proposal development.
Work with both A-S-H Product Development and outside suppliers to design unique engineered solutions for new opportunities.
Travel will be expected 50% of the time at a minimum with the remaining time spent performing follow-up work based on the travel performed.
Prepare technical reports including service and special reports for every site evaluation.
Work with A-S-H Aftermarket staff, business development, and sales teams to coordinate site visits and potential business development opportunities.
