Job Description

Essen Health Care is the largest privately held, multispecialty medical group in New York, providing high-quality, compassionate care to some of the state’s most vulnerable and underserved residents.

Founded in 1999, we’ve grown from a single primary care office into a network of 50+ locations offering urgent care, primary care and specialty services, from women’s health to endocrinology and psychiatry. We also provide nursing home support, care management, and in-home care through our Essen House Calls program. Guided by a Population Health model, our team of 500+ providers deliver care in-person, at home, or via telehealth, ensuring patients get the support they need when and where they need it.

We’re looking for talented, motivated individuals to join our growing team. Whether you’re a medical provider, administrator, or operations professional, there’s a career here for you. Join us in making a real difference in the health of our community.

We are seeking a dynamic and diplomatic Business Development Director for cardiovascular, vascular surgery, and podiatry services with a minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare business development, with a strong emphasis on community engagement and external communications. The ideal candidate will be highly energetic, personable, and deeply familiar with the Bronx community. This role plays a key part in expanding visibility for our cardiology and podiatry services through marketing collaboration and relationship building with local stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, providers, referral sources, and other external partners.
  • Represent the cardiology and podiatry departments in community outreach efforts, health fairs, events, and partnership meetings.
  • Collaborate closely with internal marketing teams to execute local campaigns that raise awareness and drive patient engagement.
  • Identify new growth opportunities and patient pipelines through community-based partnerships and networking.
  • Prepare presentations, reports, and data summaries on outreach efforts and business development impact.
  • Monitor and evaluate community trends to inform outreach strategies.
  • Travel locally 30–40% of the time; travel expenses reimbursed.

Salary: $100k-$120k

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, marketing, business, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare business development or outreach, preferably within NYC communities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to build rapport quickly and maintain long-term relationships.
  • Culturally competent and familiar with the Bronx community demographics and healthcare needs.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and highly diplomatic with a professional presence.
  • Must be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid setting.
