HIRING A BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR IN HOUSTON

ACCOUNTABILITY

The Business Development Coordinator supports DBR firm-wide by identifying new business opportunities, developing client-focused proposals, and helping drive the firm’s growth initiatives. Working closely with Market Leads, this role helps strengthen client relationships and implement strategies that support overall business development goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Administration

  • Maintain and update the CRM database with accurate information related to clients, contacts, and business development opportunities.
  • Prepare routine and customized reports to support business development initiatives and strategic decision-making.
  • Coordinate attendance and participation for Business Development staff and Market Leads at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.

Planning

  • Assist in the development and implementation of business development plans focused on key clients, target markets, and core practice areas.
  • Contribute market research and insights to support strategic planning efforts.
  • Research prospective clients, projects, and business opportunities within assigned practice areas.
    • Conduct market and client research to identify potential opportunities.
    • Identify cross-selling opportunities within the firm’s existing client base.
    • Stay informed on industry trends and market activity within assigned sectors.
    • Help develop targeted outreach strategies for key clients and market segments.
  • Participate in firm-wide business development meetings and help track progress on market sector initiatives.
  • Support conference and event planning activities.

Business Development

  • Partner with management and technical teams to identify project opportunities and strengthen client relationships.
  • Participate in professional and industry organizations to support networking and business development efforts.
  • Coordinate and support relationship-building initiatives, including:
    • Industry and association events
    • Firm Lunch and Learn programs
    • Market sector conferences
    • Networking and client engagement events
  • Assist technical staff in developing client relationship management and business development skills.
