Salary Range: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 Base+Commission/year
Travel Percentage: 50%NYRC is looking for a Business Development Associate to join our team!
The role of the Business Development Associate is to perform sales and marketing initiatives for NYRC. All tasks related to business development will be developed and implemented by the Business Development Associate in collaboration with senior management. The role includes both identifying and capturing revenue-generating opportunities for NYRC, as well as managing key client and assessor relationships. This role is focused on new business growth in the following market segments: Auto Insurance and Medical Legal.
Role Highlights:
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30am-5pm (possible evenings or weekends depending on client meetings/events that this position will need to attend).
This position will require up to 3 days in the office per week along with travel to and from client/assessor meetings, industry events, and other activities as necessary.

Lead Generation and Growth
- Identify opportunities in each of the targeted market segments and develop an action plan to engage.
- Develop and maintain a client lead list filled with prospective new clients.
- - Cold call as appropriate to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.
- - Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organization.
- - Research and build relationships with new clients.
- Identify new leads, pitch services to new clients and maintain a good working relationship with new and existing contacts.
- Responsible for new physician recruitment efforts based on recruitment list:
- - Maintain and manage doctor recruitment protocol when executing recruitment tasks and tracking.
- - Recruitment efforts will be based on market segment.
- - Some recruitment efforts will be shared between BD team members.
- Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
- Must keep up to date on competitor movements and service offerings.
- Monitor and manage bid/tender websites.
- - Summarize potential bid’s/RFPS and send to management team for review.
- Prime lead for RFP proposal development and submission
- - Manage submission process including compiling and finalizing submissions.
Account/Assessor Management
- Arrange seminars/workshops with current and prospective clients (i.e. lunch and learns
- Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
- Develop and Manage NYRC’s distribution list for the LTD and Employer markets.
- Manage NYRC’s physician roster for the LTD and Employer markets.
- Work with colleagues to meet customer needs and to develop new solutions as appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with NYRC and NYRC subsidiary companies BD staff when appropriate.
- Visit existing and previous clients and perform needs discoveries as needed (remediate situations and receive feedback to help develop new solutions)
- Assist in executing marketing campaigns as needed (this includes ordering of materials, designing new assets, and executing the campaign)
- Do all the admin work that goes with the above (internal staff can assist occasionally)

QualificationsCertificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Must hold a valid Driver’s License.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum Education: Post Secondary Diploma; University degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales, account management, business development, disability insurance, or healthcare preferred.
- Case manager, rehabilitation specialist, or insurance adjuster experience are assets.
- Should be honest, respectful, and trustworthy.
- Ability to interact with external and internal clients professionally.
- Willingness to commit to working outside regular work hours as needed.
- Ability to work unsupervised and/or with members of staff at various levels in the organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and professional personal presentation
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to give great attention to small details.
- Ability to prioritize and manage many tasks simultaneously.
- Fluent in English; verbal and written; additional languages an asset.
- Ability to face and overcome challenges seen in the course of work.
