Business development and Rotary Drills Sales Support Manager

Location: Mississauga / Lively, ON

Currently, we have an opening for a Business Development & Rotary Drills Sales Support Manager. In this role, you are responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding market share for Sandvik Mining in Canada through business development initiatives and strategic sales support for rotary drilling solutions. You will act as a key link between customers, sales teams, and product line management, ensuring effective positioning of our solutions and successful customer adoption.

What you will be doing

Business Growth and Development (50%)

  • Develop sales opportunities within the Canadian mining market, targeting engineering firms and junior mining companies
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and customers
  • Develop and execute strategies to penetrate competitor-held accounts and expand market share
  • Analyze customer needs and conduct account and site-level opportunity assessments
  • Contribute to bundled solution strategies aligned with customer requirements
  • Collaborate with broader sales teams on large or strategic accounts
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records and pipeline data

Rotary Sales Support (50%)

  • Provide application and technical support for rotary drilling solutions to internal teams and customers
  • Support the sales process by recommending solutions aligned with operational needs
  • Participate in customer presentations, demonstrations, field trials, and evaluations
  • Communicate product capabilities, specifications, and performance expectations clearly
  • Provide market intelligence insights and support strategic pipeline development
  • Collaborate with product line management to support future strategy and positioning

Customer Service

  • Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams to address technical or application concerns
  • Provide regular updates on business activities and opportunity development
  • Identify product gaps and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support forecasting through customer insights and market analysis

Technical Expertise

  • Stay current on product developments, lifecycle changes, and industry trends
  • Maintain awareness of competitor offerings
  • Support product launches, upgrades, and strategic initiatives
  • Provide feedback to product teams to address gaps in offerings

Personal Leadership

  • Operate in alignment with Sandvik’s core values, policies, and procedures
  • Take ownership of personal development and continuous learning
  • Contribute positively to team collaboration and community engagement

What you will bring along

  • Ten (10) years of proven sales experience within the mining industry
  • Strong business development and consultative selling experience
  • Knowledge of the mining industry and market dynamics
  • Technical understanding of surface drilling applications (rotary drills considered a strong asset)
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong financial acumen, with the ability to interpret business metrics and customer profitability
  • Excellent relationship-building, customer service, and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across a broad, cross-functional team
  • High level of initiative, flexibility, and problem-solving capability
  • Proficiency with sales systems and CRM tools
  • Ability to travel as required, including internationally
  • Valid driver’s license and passport
