About the role

HopgoodGanim is recruiting a Business Development Advisor into our BD and Marketing team, based in our Perth office. Reporting to the Director of Business Development and Marketing and working closely with the wider Brisbane-based team, you'll advise partners and practitioners across BD planning, client relationship management and client engagement, and play a central role in delivering high-quality bids and proposals across multiple practice groups. You'll also be the hands-on BD and Marketing support for our Perth partners.

Permanent and full-time, though part-time (0.8 to 0.9 FTE) will be considered for the right person.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Advise partners and Business Development Managers on bid strategy, win themes and value propositions
  • Write, review and edit bid content for clarity, persuasiveness and brand consistency
  • Draw information and insight from partners, practitioners and subject matter experts to shape bid responses
  • Research clients, competitors and industry trends to inform bid strategy
  • Maintain bid templates, case studies and precedent materials
  • Ensure bid responses meet all tender requirements and quality standards
  • Build pitch and presentation materials for client bids
  • Support the Bid Manager to run the overall bid process and coordinate resources

About you

Your energy, excellent writing, project management and stakeholder engagement skills will see you succeed in this role and integrate into a cohesive, high performing team. In addition, ideally you will have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications or a related field
  • Solid experience supporting bids, proposal writing, marketing communications, or a related role within professional services environment (ideally legal or accounting)
  • A strong understanding of the principles of effective bid writing and proposal development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional editing and proofreading abilities.
  • The ability to synthesise complex information and present it clearly and concisely
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ideally design software (Indesign and Canva)
