Main Purpose
Based in Istanbul, this role supports Trafigura's Geneva-based Refined Metals trading desks. The Business Developer will originate and grow commercial opportunities across Turkey and the surrounding region, acting as the primary bridge between local counterparties and the Geneva trading desks.
Key Responsibilities
Originate and develop business opportunities with Turkish and regional counterparties
Act as the primary liaison between local market relationships and the Geneva Refined Metals desks
Support deal structuring, contract negotiations, and execution alongside experienced traders
Coordinate with internal operations, logistics, trade finance, and contract administration teams
Provide regular market intelligence and counterparty insights to Geneva desk heads
Required Qualifications
Minimum 4 years' experience in commodities, metals, mining, or a related commercial field
Working knowledge of international trade, logistics, and supply chain
Fluent in Turkish — native or equivalent
Fluent English — excellent oral and written skills
Preferred Qualifications
Background in or exposure to base metals trading
Familiarity with trade finance instruments, contract administration
Additional experience in the Turkish metals and mining industry
