The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Business Data Analyst with a strong background in data analysis and technical delivery.

The ideal candidate will have experience as a Data Analyst or who has partnered closely with data teams, enabling them to translate business requirements into clear, actionable technical specifications.

This role requires someone who is comfortable working with stakeholders across business and technology functions, has strong documentation skills and possesses practical SQL knowledge to support data investigation and requirements validation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Elicit, analyse, and document business and technical requirements
  • Produce clear, high-quality functional and technical specifications
  • Collaborate with BA’s, Operational and Data team and wider stakeholders
  • Translate complex business problems into structured technical requirements
  • Perform data analysis to validate business rules, identify trends, and support solution design
  • Write and execute SQL queries to interrogate data, validate outputs, and support investigations
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder sessions to capture and refine requirements
  • Support testing by defining acceptance criteria and validating delivered solutions
  • Ensure end-to-end traceability of requirements from inception through to delivery

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst
  • Experience working within a data team or in a data capacity
  • Strong ability to write clear and detailed technical specifications and functional documentation
  • Good working knowledge of SQL
  • Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience working with Agile delivery teams

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience within Power BI, Tableau, Looker or similar reporting tools
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL Processes
  • Understanding of dimensional data models and data governance principles
  • Experience working with APIs and system integrations
  • Knowledge of cloud data platforms such as Azure, AWS, Snowflake

We Will Provide:

  • This role comes with a package of £45,000 to £50,000 depending on experience.
