The Business Data Analyst plays a key role in transforming data into actionable insights that support strategic and operational decision-making across the organization. This role is business-focused, with a strong emphasis on understanding performance drivers, identifying trends, and enabling data-informed decisions across operations, sales, pricing, and client engagement. The analyst will work closely with business leaders and collaborate with the technology team to ensure access to reliable data and the effective use of reporting tools.
This is a remote position with a Monday to Friday schedule. Occasional travel to Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, and Montreal required.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain standardized dashboards and recurring reports for executive and operational leadership, with a focus on sales, finances, conversion, case throughput, and client performance.
Conduct ad hoc and exploratory analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities across business units and service lines.
Develop and maintain forecasting models to support pricing, triage, and resource planning decisions.
Lead efforts to improve data quality, consistency, and governance across business reporting.
Establish and maintain a “single source of truth” for key business metrics and reporting assets.
Collaborate with the corporate and technology team to ensure appropriate access to data sources, support reporting infrastructure, and resolve data integrity issues.
Translate business questions into structured analytical problems and communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Support the development of data literacy across the organization by promoting best practices in data interpretation and usage.
Ensure reporting practices align with data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements (e.g. PHI/PI).
QualificationsEducation & Experience
4–7 years of experience in a business data analyst or similar role, ideally within healthcare, insurance, or regulated service environments.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related field.
Qualifications
Advanced proficiency in Excel (including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, data tables).
Strong SQL skills for querying and manipulating relational databases.
Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
Familiarity with statistical tools and scripting languages (e.g., SAS, VBA, Python) is an asset.
Proven ability to validate data, identify inconsistencies, and ensure reporting accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings to senior leadership.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
