This position designs, implements and oversees key procurement department financial and operational control assessments, process improvements, and reports key performance metrics to senior leadership. This position presents analysis and recommendations to management and may implement selected alternative.
Designs, develops, and implements process and customer service improvements across the procurement department. Improvements should be scalable to other business platforms. Reviews and revises the procurement and purchasing policy as needed based on periodic review of violations and/or gaps in the policies. Drives improvements in data acquisition, analysis, and retention for key business applications. (40%)
Audits business system data, examines actuals against targets, forecasts performance, analyzes business processes, and conducts special studies. Develops performance reporting for the procurement department. Leads department efforts in audit requirements, accounting standards, and SOX compliance. (30%)
Ensures consistent and standard practices are followed for all transactions, bids, and contracts. Develops and implements department strategies and process improvements. (20%)
Reports procurement key performance metrics weekly and monthly to senior leadership. Recommends and implements action plans for achieving objectives. (10%)
Bachelor's degree in engineering, information systems, computer science, construction management, business administration or related field. (Typically four years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree).
6+ years of project management or supply chain related experience, including two years in a senior technical/leadership role.
Three years of experience in a role leading and directing projects and demonstration of knowledge and understanding of human performance improvement techniques.
Knowledge of business skills, management, budgeting and analysis.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Project management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, project management skills and financial evaluations.
