Job Description

What will your main responsibilities be?

As a Business Controller you will be working in close cooperation with the respective production departments, the maintenance organization and administrative functions. You are seen as a true business partner in the area of finance, who is interested in the story behind the numbers. You will have a key role in decision support, cost control, examining the investment portfolio, supporting business cases and driving the capital value process. You will report to, and work closely together with the Business Support Manager and be a key member of a competent and experienced team. You are part of a dynamic work environment where you will collaborate with supportive colleagues to:

  • Pro-actively examine sites’ (financial) performance related and ensure relevant management information to support decision making and performance management;
  • Make optimal use and fully utilize available IT tools;
  • Prepare and challenge business cases to support investment decisions, whilst ensuring compliance with Yara’s capital value process;
  • Responsible for month-end closing procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial accounting and reporting according to IFRS;
  • Pro-actively support and drive improvements in close cooperation with the Business Support Manager

You will make sure that all these activities are being executed in conformance with Yara’s Values & Management system.

Who are you?

You are a motivated team player with good analytical and communicative skills. You have the ability to follow up on multiple projects at the same time and to communicate about progress to different stakeholders within and outside the organization. You are able to support the business with a positive but critical attitude and you provide support with the financial figures. Next to this you have a genuine interest in the sites’ operations and industry major challenges (e.g. carbon footprint, hydrogen economy, Dutch Climate regulation).

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Finance, Accounting and/or Controlling or comparable education;
  • Experience in an industrial/production environment is an advantage;
  • High proficiency of Microsoft Excel and affinity with IT tools. Experience with SAP and Power BI is an advantage;
  • Fluent in Dutch, good in English.
