Job Title: Business Control Testing Specialist, AVP

Location: Mumbai, India

PB 1LoD Control Testing is a key pillar of Deutsche Bank’s risk management framework, providing independent assurance over the design adequacy and operating effectiveness of controls across the Private Bank. As part of the team, you will plan and execute risk-based control testing to assess adherence to applicable laws, rules, regulations and internal standards. You will partner with business and control functions to communicate testing outcomes, agree practical remediation actions and support sustainable control improvements, including collaboration with other testing teams on cross-jurisdictional reviews. The role also requires the use of data analysis, analytical tools and AI technology to enhance testing coverage, efficiency and insight, while applying appropriate professional judgment.

Your key responsibilities

  • Undertake testing activities according to deadlines agreed and the standards defined in the global testing framework.
  • Perform regular design and operational effectiveness testing on controls managing Operational Risk/Compliance risks.
  • Proactively engage with the business to agree issues and remediation actions resulting out of testing activities.
  • Communicate testing results via high-quality reports and track issues and actions to completion.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels and working relationships with the relevant stakeholders in the business and other control functions (e.g. Internal Audit, Risk, Controls etc.) to ensure a coordinated approach and effective resolution of issues.
  • Proven ability to use approved AI and data analytics tools.

Your skills and experience

  • Good knowledge of the banking/ financial markets business, its rules and regulations in Europe and Global and deep understanding of operational and compliance risks.
  • 8+ years of experience gained from Compliance, Audit, Risk or other types of regulatory background within the financial services industry.
  • Strong work ethic, commitment to excel and capacity to work effectively with limited supervision
  • Structured and detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent writing, communication and negotiation skills, including the ability to describe complex issues clearly and succinctly in ways that are easily understandable by others.
  • University Degree
