Job Description

As a Business Control Analyst in our Finance organization, you will help ensure accurate balance sheet usage, robust controls, and reliable close and reporting outcomes. You will analyze RWA and balance sheet information, communicate insights to senior stakeholders, and coordinate issue resolution across front, middle, and back office partners. You will also support regulatory and governance deliverables and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support daily and month-end close processes for RWA and balance sheet reporting.
  • Produce and consolidate recurring reporting across daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles.
  • Analyze balance sheet movements, drivers, and exceptions; identify trends and emerging issues.
  • Deliver clear, timely analysis to trading leaders, business managers, and senior finance management.
  • Validate balance sheet usage and the appropriateness of legal entity alignment and related governance.
  • Coordinate preparation and review of quarterly regulatory deliverables and supporting documentation.
  • Strengthen controls by documenting processes and proposing control enhancements.
  • Partner with stakeholders to implement new business initiatives with appropriate financial controls and reporting.
  • Investigate data and reporting breaks; drive root-cause analysis and timely remediation.
  • Automate recurring tasks and improve tooling to increase accuracy, efficiency, and transparency.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests while prioritizing workload and communicating progress clearly.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and data quality.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas and data analysis techniques.
  • Working knowledge of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) to maintain or enhance existing automation.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Advanced/fluent English (written and verbal).

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities & Skills:

  • Experience supporting financial close, balance sheet reporting, or controls in a markets environment.
  • Experience with Alteryx for data preparation and workflow automation.
  • Experience with Python for analysis and automation.
  • Comfort working with large datasets and reconciling across multiple sources.
