Job Description

The Senior Digital Resilience / Business Continuity Practitioner will help strengthen Mintel’s digital business continuity and resilience capability across priority systems and client-facing services. This is an individual contributor role, the postholder will not be managing a team, but they will need to influence decisions, work with autonomy, and help drive action through credibility, structure, and practical judgement.

This is not a traditional paperwork-led business continuity role. Documentation matters, but the role is more than maintaining templates. We need someone who can help us understand whether priority digital services can credibly continue or recover, what evidence supports that position, where the gaps are, and what practical action or risk decisions are needed.

You will work with Information Security, Risk, Digital, Infrastructure, Development, Systems Management and business owners to help move digital continuity from documented intention into credible, evidenced capability.

This role will suit someone who is pragmatic, digitally literate and comfortable operating in an imperfect environment. You will need to be firm without being abrasive, supportive without being passive, and able to help technical teams and senior stakeholders make clear decisions.

What You Will Be Doing:

Continuity & Resilience Assessment

  • Build a clear view of continuity and recovery capability for agreed priority systems
  • Work with service owners to review criticality, dependencies, recovery expectations and evidence

Testing & Exercising

  • Design and coordinate BC/DR tests, tabletop exercises and recovery walkthroughs
  • Capture evidence, lessons learned, owners, actions and decision points

Gap Management

  • Challenge unsupported recovery claims and distinguish documented intent from proven capability
  • Create pragmatic improvement plans and track blockers, material gaps and risk acceptance points

Stakeholder Influence

  • Coordinate activity across technical, risk and business teams without direct line authority
  • Translate findings into clear options for senior stakeholders and escalate when direction is needed

What We Are Looking For:

Relevant Experience: 5+ years in business continuity, disaster recovery, digital resilience, operational resilience, technology risk or a related discipline

Evidence-Led: Able to validate recovery assumptions rather than simply confirm that a plan exists

Pragmatic Judgement: Comfortable making progress in imperfect environments, balancing structure with practical action

Influencer: Able to build trust, challenge weak assumptions and move work forward without formal authority

Clear Communicator: Able to explain what is known, what is not known, the available options and the decisions required

Desirable: CBCI, MBCI, AMBCI, CBCP, ISO 22301 Lead Implementer or equivalent; exposure to ISO 22301, ISO 27031, cloud, SaaS, client assurance, audit or tender responses

This role is offered as a 22.5 hour week contract (3 days) with 1 day, Tuesday in the London office. Flexible start times are available.

About Mintel

Market Intelligence is what sets us apart and what defines us as a brand – literally in fact: when the company was founded in 1972 it took its name from an amalgamation of the two words. We have been defining and refining the Market Intelligence Mix ever since, to offer our clients a unique perspective on the consumer landscape ahead and a clear roadmap with which to navigate it.

So what goes into the market intelligence mix?

MARKET RESEARCH is not the only thing we do, but it is right at the core of our business. The vast range of primary research we carry out and commission is the bedrock of our market intelligence, creating data series we can assess incrementally over the long term to track trends and forecast the future.

MARKET ANALYSIS is the second key element of the market intelligence mix. Our specialist team of market analysts scours the globe for trade, industry and government data, which our statisticians then integrate into meaningful sizing models and future value forecasts for thousands of sectors worldwide.

PRODUCT INTELLIGENCE adds micro-level relevance to the macro context of our market analysis, bringing our clients real-world examples of the launches and goods that are driving the numbers.

COMPETITIVE INTELLIGENCE is the fourth pillar of our work, keeping our clients abreast of their rivals’ strategies, communications and results, to give them the understanding they need to choose the right response to gain or maintain that crucial competitive edge.

The magic happens when we pull them all together. Trend analysts, category specialists, systems developers, dedicated account teams and client servicing staff work together to provide our clients with understanding as well as knowledge.

That’s our Market Intelligence. That’s how we help businesses grow. It’s why we’re the leaders in it.
