Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Business Continuity Coordinator with a strong background in Capital Markets, Risk Management, and Business Continuity Planning to support enterprise resiliency and operational risk initiatives within a large financial services environment. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders across Technology & Operations, Risk, and business teams to ensure Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), Disaster Recovery (DR) processes, and resiliency controls remain aligned with enterprise standards and operational requirements.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a highly collaborative environment and is comfortable managing multiple deliverables, coordinating testing activities, and supporting audit and control functions within a regulated banking environment.

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 1 day in office weekly)
Contract Length: 12 Months (Extension or FTE Conversion Possible)
Hours: 9 AM–5 PM EST (Occasional Weekend Work Required)


Pay: T4: $24 // IC: $27
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate and support Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) activities across Capital Markets Technology & Operations teams.
  • Facilitate and execute Disaster Recovery testing activities to validate recovery strategies and operational readiness.
  • Conduct notification testing to confirm employee availability and communication effectiveness across designated devices and channels.
  • Support BCP walkthrough exercises and alternate work area testing to ensure operational continuity procedures are effective and compliant.
  • Perform quality assurance (QA) reviews of Business Continuity Plans to ensure alignment with enterprise standards, controls, and governance requirements.
  • Provide audit support during internal and external reviews by gathering documentation, evidence, and control-related materials related to business continuity processes.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to maintain accurate and up-to-date continuity documentation reflecting current business operations and dependencies.
  • Track testing schedules, remediation items, action plans, and deliverables to ensure timely completion and reporting.
  • Assist with identifying operational risks, gaps, and control deficiencies related to continuity and resiliency processes.
  • Prepare clear documentation, reports, and status updates for stakeholders and leadership teams.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of experience in Business Continuity Planning, Disaster Recovery, Operational Risk, or related risk and controls functions.
  • Strong understanding of business continuity concepts, resiliency frameworks, and operational risk management practices.
  • Experience coordinating DR testing, continuity exercises, audit support activities, or control validation initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and stakeholder deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand operational impacts and broader strategic objectives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong documentation capabilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience working within financial services, banking, or other regulated environments preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

Preferred

  • Previous experience within Capital Markets, Technology & Operations, or enterprise risk functions.
  • Experience supporting internal or external audit activities within a banking or financial institution environment.
  • Knowledge of enterprise governance, compliance, or control frameworks.
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Familiarity with enterprise continuity management standards and testing methodologies.


Education

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business, Finance, Risk Management, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
