Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Business Compliance Manager MEA, located in Dubai, UAE

The business compliance manager will be responsible in cooperation with Country HCCOs for developing a comprehensive approach to manage the risk of cooperation with Third Party Intermediaries( TPIs) in the Middle East and Africa, with emphasis on markets with increased TPI risks.

The business compliance manager will serve as a subject matter expert for the businesssponsorsand business leadership teams in addressing everything related to the Due Diligence process of TPIs, audit findings or SI recommendations related to TPI management also implementing and executing efficient and risk-driven monitoring plans on TPIs in cooperation with Country HCCOs

Ensure DePuy Synthes business practices and activities in relation to TPIsare in compliance withrelated DePuy Synthes internal guidelines, local laws and regulations and anti-corruption laws including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

This position reports to DePuy Synthes Middle East Strategy and Operation Director with a dotted line to Middle East and MISSA Health Care Compliance Officers.

PROFILE:

  • Bachelor’s degreerequired; advanced degree is preferred

  • Requiresstrong communication,organisationaland analytical skills

  • Broad business experience and a proven ability to influence business decisions and business partners

  • Ability to take complex business situations and develop solutions to ensure compliant growth is achieved

  • Requiresstrong communication,organisationaland analytical skills

  • Abilityto work well between functions and across all levels of the business and effective negotiating skills are essential.

  • Background may include Compliance, Finance, Audit, Sales and Marketing, Medical Affairs, Legal, or Regulatory

  • Proventrack recordin delivering results,self-starterand ability to manage complexitya must

  • Experience leading in a multi-national environment preferred

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with business leadership teams and business sponsors to ensure that due diligence for DePuy Synthes Middle East and Africa region is conducted as per HCC program to effectively prevent and/or detect violations of law, regulations, policies, or the Code of Conduct

  • Lead the Samples management capabilityfor MEA DePuy Synthes sector (including development and maintenance of relevant systems)

  • Ensureappropriate standardoperations procedures are implemented in compliance critical areas (pricing, tendering, distributors management & other)

  • Provide and coordinateappropriate guidanceon Due Diligence and HCC-related updates/activities as needed

  • Lead the reconciliationofdocumentsfor high-riskactivities

  • Ensure all TPI Due Diligence for MEAis completed and valid as per EMEA Business Practice guidelines

  • Provide business sponsors with regular reports onDue Diligencerenewal and mid-term certification timelines to ensure it is completed as per relevant due date to ensure business continuity

  • Conduct Due Diligence training forMEAbusiness sponsors;maintainDue Diligence training records,andvalid TPI Inventory forMEA

  • Participate in Compliance Committee meetings asrequired

  • Support the business and compliance team during audits/monitoring activities related to DD compliance matters

  • Participate & Support in projectslinked to Management Action Plansto assure enhancement of business compliance

  • Coordinate and work closely with the EMEA Third Party Ethics and Compliance (TPEC) team

  • Support the audit team and be the main point of contact with TPIs in case of any TPI audit

  • Support theend-to-endlife cycle management of TPIs inMEA

  • In cooperation with the HCCOs support the monitoring of TPI compensation inMEA

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • BA/BS, advanced degree or equivalent preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and/or medical device industries withappropriate businessexperience

  • Prior experience in project management preferred

  • Supervising peopleexperiencesispreferred

  • Experience in Health Care Compliance preferred

  • Understands andmastersthe DePuy Synthes culture.

  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and industry standards forMiddleEast is a plus.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

  • Deals well with ambiguity anddemonstratesstrong organizational, process and interpersonal skills.

  • Abilityto work well between functions and across all levels of the business and effective negotiating skills are essential.

  • Abilitytocomprehendand interpret legal documents would be an advantage.

  • Proven successatpeople management and talent development.
