The Business Management Innovation Unit (BMIU), within the Finance and Corporate Services Directorate, works with Services across Fife Council to support change and improvement.
With a focus on improving business processes, encouraging self-service and making the best use of technology, the team challenge and support individuals, teams and Services to think differently and introduce new ways of working.
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join the team, who are keen to develop their skills and contribute to a range of improvement and business change activities. You will have strong people skills and the ability to build positive working relationships, helping teams and Services to work collaboratively to deliver better outcomes.
Working closely with BMIU Lead Officers and managers, you will:
Support teams and Services to understand current processes, identify opportunities for improvement and make better use of technology, including Oracle Cloud, AI (Copilot) and other Microsoft and digital tools.
Assist in planning, creating and delivering engagement activities including; workshops, collaboration sessions and communications to support change.
Develop and maintain practical support materials such as guidance, process maps and user resources to help embed new ways of working.
Build positive working relationships with colleagues to facilitate change.
Gather and analyse feedback and information to help understand the impact of changes and support continuous improvement.
The Person
Educated to SCQF Level 7 (HNC / Advanced Highers) or equivalent experience.
Ability to build positive working relationships and work collaboratively with colleagues across Services.
Comfortable working in a dynamic and changing environment, with the ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload.
Confidence to engage with colleagues at all levels and support change and improvement activity.
A proactive approach to problem solving, with the ability to identify issues and help develop practical solutions.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain ideas clearly and support engagement activity.
A flexible and adaptable mindset, with a willingness to learn and develop.
An organised approach to work, ensuring tasks are progressed effectively and deadlines are met.
