Leads cross-functional change by aligning people, processes and technology to improve business performance and drive innovative solutions, particularly those related to transportation safety and compliance across Canada. Plans, coordinates, and leads key initiatives including project development and strategic execution. Provides business support, serving as a technology and business advocate. Facilitates development of clear cases for change, desired outcomes, accurate scope and associated financial analysis. This position requires a high level of written and English proficiency. This role requires frequent travel to our Canadian Distribution Centres.
What We Offer:
The salary range for this position in Ontario and British Columbia is is $95,000 to $115,000 plus a 20% bonus potential.

Essential Functions:
Strategic Leadership & Vision
Define and execute the long-term safety roadmap for Transportation across all Canadian Divisions
Act as the internal consultant on emerging regulatory trends and safety technologies.
Drive "Performance Consistency" across all divisions to ensure the GFS brand maintains a unified safety posture.
Regulatory & Governmental Compliance
Legal Oversight: Serve as the subject matter expert for all federal, provincial and local transportation regulations.
Asset Compliance: Support and provide guidance around asset compliance (LCV permit compliance, etc.) to divisional fleet managers
Audit Readiness: Maintain a state of constant audit-readiness for all government compliance reviews and inspections.
Consultation & Specialized Training
Provide expert safety and compliance consultation to divisional leadership
Develop and deploy standardized safety training
Performs other health and safety compliance duties as assigned.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Transportation Safety & Compliance: Deep understanding of relevant safety standards, including Canadian Federal and Provincial Motor Carrier legislation, National Safety Code (NSC) standards, and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations.
Safety Management Systems (SMS)Expertise in implementing or improving SMS, including risk assessment, hazard identification, and compliance auditing.
Operational Safety Protocols Knowledge of Hours of Service (HOS) rules, vehicle maintenance standards, and cargo securement requirements.
Technology Application: Proficiency in telematics and compliance tools, specifically the samsara telematics software.
Communication:reading (standard and technical), writing (business, technical), speaking (basic, conversational, public speaking), creating presentations and conducting training.
Human Relations:ability to motivate, collaborate, successfully interact and coach others while balancing results with relationships; lead people without having direct responsibility.
Self Management self-directed, motivated, ability to prioritize and manage fluctuations in workload and changes in priority, comfortable with ambiguity.
Understanding of Technology understanding of technology, systems and applications and how they can improve business performance.
Facilitating Groups: effectively leads group discussions, makes progress and keeps groups focused; encourages diverse points of view and active participation; comes prepared to meetings; and plans for follow up and action items.
Sustaining Business Knowledge & Experience maintains a high level of business experience and stays current on trends and developments in areas of expertise. Uses this knowledge to make good business change decisions.
Change Management: understands practical application of change management best practices to minimize negative impact on people and ensure succession change adoption. Integrates standard processes, technology and culture using proven change management tactics and activities.
Complex Problem Solving identifies and helps to solve complex problems using related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
