OF THE JOB:
The Business Banking Officer is responsible for developing and maintaining a portfolio of small business relationships within the assigned territory. The primary responsibility is increasing the number of profitable customer relationships through generation of new loan and deposit opportunities and the expansion of new relationships. Provides the highest level of service and responsiveness to internal and external customers. Performs responsibilities with minimal level of management supervision.
The incumbent must be a self-starter with a proven sales track-record, a strategic sales approach and a desire to help small businesses within our communities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Achieve lending, deposit, and fee income goals associated with BBO III job level
• Primary focus on out of the office prospecting/networking in an assigned territory to develop new long-term mutually beneficial relationships focusing on deposits, cross sell and small business loan relationships
• Adhere to an aggressive calling program targeting companies with annual revenues up to $10MM. Cross sells bank products and services, with a particular emphasis on fee income growth opportunities.
• Develop and manages a network of external centers of influence. Pursues those outreach activities that increase and reinforce community and market awareness for the Bank.
• Partner with other bank professionals on joint sales presentations as appropriate
• Maintain a high level of current and thorough knowledge of all bank products and services
• Attends regional branch manager meetings for assigned region to exchange market and product information.
• Collaborate with other banking departments to facilitate and improve banking services
• Represent the Bank through participation in various industry and community activities and networking events. Actively promotes the Bank’s interest in the marketplace.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years directly related experience and proven track record of generating new business leads and meeting sales goals
• Demonstrates mastery level of consultative sales competency, including outbound prospecting
• Deep ability to review and understand business financial statements
• Must possess strong customer service skills
• Knowledge of Treasury Management Services and ability to identify needs
• Ability to develop and maintain strong business relationships with centers of influence and to partner with management to develop new marketing strategies
• Should have familiarity with the community of assigned market
• Excellent presentation, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Must possess at least intermediate technology skills.
