Location: Daventry – CV23 8BQ – Hybrid with travel to sites required

Are you an experienced business assurance and testing leader who can bring structure, evidence and confidence to complex operational change? We are looking for a Business Assurance Manager to lead assurance activities across warehouse management systems, automation, and operational change programmes.

In this high-impact role, you will be accountable for User Acceptance Testing (UAT), integration testing, and Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT), ensuring solutions are fully evidenced, risk assessed, and approved before deployment into live operations. You will lead a team of testing professionals and act as the principal assurance interface across DHL operations, technology and business teams, programme delivery partners, and third-party vendors.

You will provide independent, evidence-based recommendations on operational readiness and go-live acceptance, establish clear governance and decision-making frameworks, and ensure risks, defects, and acceptance decisions remain controlled, transparent, and effectively managed throughout the delivery lifecycle.

✅A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE

  • Define and maintain the UAT and Operational Acceptance Testing strategy, standards, governance and delivery framework.
  • Lead end-to-end testing for WMS implementations, releases, upgrades and operational change, including customer-owned platforms.
  • Ensure complete traceability between requirements, test scenarios, evidence, defects, acceptance criteria and sign-off.
  • Lead acceptance testing for warehouse automation and material handling solutions, coordinating WMS, WCS, automation and operational integration.
  • Plan test environments, data, resources and activity against programme milestones, including peak and exception scenarios.
  • Govern defect triage, prioritisation, ownership, escalation and closure, maintaining controlled and auditable evidence.
  • Establish governance forums, decision rights, responsibilities, escalation routes and sign-off authority across all parties.
  • Translate technical issues into clear operational, customer and commercial impacts for senior stakeholders.
  • Provide independent readiness and go-live recommendations, constructively challenging gaps in evidence, ownership or delivery.
  • Lead, coach and develop UAT Test Leads and Test Analysts colleagues across direct and matrix teams.
  • Standardise testing tools, templates and reusable assets, using lessons learned and performance data to improve quality and cycle efficiency.
  • Maintain delivery plans, dependencies, RAID, decision records and evidence repositories within agreed resource and cost parameters.

✅THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO

  • Significant leadership experience in logistics, warehousing, supply chain operations, systems implementation or business assurance.
  • Proven leadership of complex UAT programmes for WMS implementations, upgrades or releases.
  • Demonstrable experience testing customer-owned WMS platforms, including customer-led UAT, defect management, business acceptance and sign-off.
  • Experience of automation commissioning and acceptance testing, including WMS, WCS and automation integration.
  • Strong experience operating in complex, customer-facing programme environments involving multiple functions and external vendors.
  • A track record of establishing effective governance, decision rights, accountability, escalation and sign-off arrangements.
  • The confidence to influence and constructively challenge senior stakeholders, resolve ownership gaps and drive timely decisions.
  • Experience of providing independent, evidence-based readiness recommendations to senior governance forums.
  • Strong people leadership skills, including coaching, resource planning and managing concurrent workstreams.
  • UK and Ireland operational experience; exposure to multi-site or regional implementations would be advantageous.
