About the Job:

The Information & Technology Services department is looking for an Business Applications Analyst or Senior Business Applications Analyst with a problem-solving mindset and a curiosity for figuring out how technology can work better for the people who rely on it.

Working across enterprise applications that support functions throughout the Airport Authority—including construction and capital projects, finance, project controls, and other business operations—this role will configure systems, improve workflows, troubleshoot complex issues, develop integrations and automation, and translate business needs into practical technology solutions. Experience with SAN's specific application suite isn't required; experience solving similar business systems challenges and the ability to learn a new technology environment are what matter.

Depending on experience, the selected candidate may join SAN at the Business Applications Analyst or Senior Business Applications Analyst level, with the Senior level taking greater ownership of complex solutions, technical strategy, and cross-functional initiatives.

The ideal candidate is someone who likes a good systems puzzle: resourceful, collaborative, and energized by problems that don't come with an instruction manual. SAN operates within a complex, established enterprise technology environment, where the answer isn't always a new application or an out-of-the-box solution. Sometimes it means getting under the hood of an existing system, understanding how information moves between platforms, and finding a creative way forward.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead Application Solutions: Serve as a technology partner across the Airport Authority, helping teams solve business challenges and improve how enterprise applications support their work.
• Configure & Enhance Systems: Design, configure, maintain, and enhance enterprise applications—including PMWeb and Oracle JDE E1—to support construction, capital planning, finance, cost management, project controls, and other business operations.
• Automate Processes: Build and improve workflows, forms, data elements, and other automations that simplify processes and make systems work better for users.
• Connect Systems: Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot integrations between enterprise applications, using tools such as MTG and Magic xpi to improve how information moves across systems.
• Translate Business Needs: Partner with users to understand challenges, document functional and technical requirements, test solutions end to end, and turn business needs into workable technology solutions.
• Shape Technology Solutions: Develop project strategies, business cases, and roadmaps while helping cross-functional teams evaluate options and determine practical paths forward.
• Partner Across Airport Authority: Collaborate with business users, technology teams, and vendors to troubleshoot complex issues, identify opportunities for improvement, implement solutions, and support successful adoption.

About the Team:

Information & Technology Services (I&TS) is a mission-driven, campus-wide team that enables the Airport Authority's operations through reliable, secure, and forward-looking technology. I&TS supports critical business applications, passenger-facing systems, and the infrastructure and technology services that connect the airport campus and keep operations moving.

The Business & Systems Applications team works at the intersection of technology and airport operations, partnering with departments across Airport Authority to understand business needs and turn them into practical technology solutions. The team supports and enhances enterprise applications, improves workflows, develops integrations and automation, troubleshoots complex system challenges, and helps ensure the technology employees rely on continues to meet evolving business needs. They are an environment where curiosity is valued, different perspectives strengthen the solution, and technology is ultimately measured by how well it works for the people and operations it supports.

Requirements

The Experience You Need to Have**:

Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in computer science, management information systems, or a closely related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.

Business Applications Analyst

• Three years of progressively responsible experience developing requirements and design specifications for business systems applications, including supporting the testing and development of reports using Crystal Reports, Power BI, or similar tools.

Senior Business Applications Analyst

• Five years of business systems application configuration, development, and specifications design experience, including end-to-end business process testing for PMWeb or similar ERP applications and developing and testing reports using Power BI, Crystal Reports, or similar tools.

Candidates will be considered for the level that best aligns with their qualifications, experience, and demonstrated capabilities through the selection process.

Preferred Technical Experience:

Experience with every system listed below isn't expected. We're interested in candidates who have worked with comparable enterprise applications and can apply that knowledge to learn and navigate a complex technology environment.

• SQL
• Construction & Project Management Systems: PMWeb, Procore, or similar platforms
• ERP & Financial Systems: Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (JDE E1), Oracle ERP, Workday Financial, Oracle PeopleSoft, SAP, or similar platforms
• Enterprise Applications: Salesforce or comparable business applications
• Integration Technologies: MTG, Magic xpi, or comparable integration tools

Preferred Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:

• Project Management Institute certifications - PMP, PMI-PBA, PMI-ACP
• Agile certifications - CSM, PSM, CAPM, KMP, DASM

Distinguishing Characteristics

The Business Applications Analyst (Application Development Analyst) is distinguished from the Senior Business Applications Analyst (Senior Application Development Analyst) by the level of autonomy, complexity of assignments, and technical leadership expected. The Senior level works with greater independence on more complex assignments and may provide technical guidance or supervision to other team members.

The level at which the position is filled will be determined based on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience.

This role requires regular driving as a critical part of performing work-related duties, specifically involving the operation of Airport Authority vehicles. A valid California driver’s license is required, along with strict adherence to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Applicants must maintain an acceptable driving record to operate Authority vehicles. Compliance with Airport Authority vehicle use policies, including safety protocols and reporting requirements, is mandatory. Applicants must acknowledge that driving Airport Authority vehicles is an essential function of this role.
