Position Purpose:

The primary objective of this position is to provide management support, reporting and business analytics to assist Head of TPU Sales & Market Development APAC on business steering and performance management. This role is also responsible for managing the execution of regional business growth and improvement initiatives, e.g. performance (KPI) analytics, steering of EVOLVE project and other strategic initiatives, digital transformation (Cloud for Customer “C4C” and Customer Interaction Assistant “CIA”), implementing Commercial Excellence (New Customer Growth “NCG”, Existing Customer Growth “ECG”, Value-Based Pricing), and management meeting coordination.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage APAC EVOLVE initiatives to ensure delivery of financial targets and timely completion of milestones. Work with Initiative Owners on mitigation measures in case gaps or risks with regards to performance targets are identified
  • Serve as project office for selected regional initiatives as part of the execution of TPU APAC strategy, e.g. Commercial Excellence, channel management, country strategy review
  • Support TPU APAC head and management team in preparation of strategic meetings and presentations to senior management and other stakeholders
  • Support digital transformation within TPU APAC Sales & Market Development by integrating AI and digital tools (e.g. Covestro Virtual Assistant “CoVA”, CIA, C4C) into business steering and daily commercial operations across all subregions
  • Prepare business metrics, reports and dashboard to support business steering and performance review for TPU APAC to ensure effective execution of strategy and sales plan
  • Compile and audit inputs from the subregions for monthly forecast/ Health check, quarterly financial planning, and long-term projections to support operational and strategic planning
  • Monitor and analyze deviations against budget in terms of volume, margin as well as working capital, and work with the correspondent on counter measures
  • Lead or support APAC Management Team in ad-hoc requests/initiatives in connection to strategy formulation/implementation, market study, process optimization, cross-business entity collaboration, and new business development, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Min. 5 years of practical business experience in consultancy, project management, business analytics, controlling or other relevant functions
  • Business or other relevant degree (MBA, M. Sc or M. Eng highly preferred)
  • Excellent interpersonal and coordination skills with competence in managing projects/assignments in cross-functional or -country environment
  • Capable of translating high level strategy or abstract info into action plan to help operationalizing business strategy and raise organizational engagement
  • Operating knowledge and experience with SAP (BW, COSMOS, C4C) for data mining and competent in integrating Artificial Intelligence and digital tools into daily operations
  • Strong analytical skills and effective in using statistics/matrix/charts/tables
  • Experience in preparing presentations or reports for senior management
  • Demonstrated holistic thinking, good business sense, and capable to work independently and with ambiguity
  • Ability to work under pressure and comfortable to deliver on tight deadlines
  • Self-driven, accountable, open-minded and challenge status-quo
  • Fluent in oral and written English and Chinese
