We have an exciting eight-month fixed-term opportunity for an experienced Business and Design Analyst to support the development and implementation of an AI-enabled solution for Auckland Council’s consenting services. Providing senior business analysis leadership, you’ll help bridge the gap between operational needs, regulatory requirements and technical delivery. Working alongside our external vendor and internal teams, you’ll provide the system overlay needed to translate complex business needs into clear requirements, improved processes and practical solution designs that support better resource and building consenting outcomes.
Your day-to-day work will span a range of projects and involve process engineering, requirements gathering, prioritisation and progress tracking. You’ll facilitate workshops, engage stakeholders and map current-state processes through to their future state, identifying opportunities for improvement, automation and AI enablement.

You’ll be an experienced and solutions-focused Business Analyst with strong analytical, process-mapping and problem-solving capabilities. You can take complex information and turn it into clear requirements, practical process designs and meaningful recommendations for stakeholders at all levels. You’ll also bring advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to establish clear assumptions when information is incomplete. You’ll be organised, adaptable and able to manage competing priorities while working both independently and collaboratively across a fast-paced environment. You’ll also be able to use basic te reo Māori in everyday workplace communication and demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of tikanga Māori.
