JOB PURPOSE

The Business Analytics Planner supports the Business Analytics & Budgeting (BA&B) function in Japan by driving reporting, data visualization, and performance analysis across the retail network. The role requires strong technical skills in Excel and Power BI, alongside the ability to transform data into clear insights and compelling presentations for management and HQ. By connecting reporting accuracy with business priorities, the Planner plays a key role in enabling informed commercial decisions and long-term planning.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver weekly and monthly reports on sales, KPIs, and productivity across stores and channels.
  • Extract, clean, and structure raw data, ensuring accuracy and consistency of reporting.
  • Build and maintain Business Objects & Power BI dashboards to support performance monitoring and decision-making.
  • Prepare high-quality presentation decks for executive management and HQ, transforming data into clear narratives and visuals.
  • Track store productivity, sales trends, and inventory KPIs to support forecasting and strategic planning.
  • Partner with Merchandising, Retail Operations, and HQ to align reporting with business needs.
  • Support ad hoc analysis and business reviews, providing actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
  • Contribute to efficiency initiatives by improving reporting processes and supporting automation.
  • Gain exposure and growth opportunities by contributing to business review meetings, update presentations, and cross-functional discussions with senior leadership.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Advanced Excel expertise (formulas, pivot tables, automation, structuring).

Knowledge of Power BI or similar data visualization tools.

Strong PowerPoint skills with experience building executive-level presentations.

Fluent/business-level Japanese proficiency (reading, writing, verbal).

Basic English for reporting systems and HQ communication.

3–4+ years of experience in retail, fashion, or consumer goods industries.

Familiarity with sales reporting, KPIs, and multi-store performance analysis.

Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
