Business Analyst (with Cybersecurity experience)

The Business Analysis team at Tokio Marine HCC, part of the Underwriting department, plays a crucial role in analyzing business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and support company goals.

Based in our Barcelona office, the Business Analyst with Cybersecurity experience will act as a key liaison between the front and back offices, ensuring that operational systems meet business needs. This role involves gathering and analyzing requirements, driving system enhancements, and managing project progress while keeping stakeholders informed.

Reporting directly to the Business Analysis Manager, this position also provides operational support to various departments, ensuring the seamless execution of business processes

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for system-related inquiries across departments (Underwriting, Finance, Compliance, Operations).
  • Lead new system implementations by translating business needs into technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and maintain stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assess system impacts resulting from business process changes and recommend solutions.
  • Communicate system updates and improvements through emails, newsletters, and presentations.
  • Use Azure DevOps (ADO) to log bugs, track user stories, and monitor system updates.
  • Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies (Refinement, Planning).
  • Deliver training sessions on system updates to ensure employee understanding of monthly releases.
  • Identify opportunities for system enhancements and process optimizations.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation, including training materials.
  • Partner with the Product Owner to align system changes with business goals.
  • Collaborate with cyber teams on the development and integration of cyber applications.
  • Apply cybersecurity knowledge, including:
    • Application security basics (e.g., OWASP).
    • Cyber risk identification and assessment for business operations and third-party applications.
    • Integration between core insurance platforms and cyber applications.
    • Cybersecurity frameworks, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards.
    • Cyber risk landscape awareness, incident response, and monitoring tools.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 2–4 years of prior experience as Business Analyst with Cybersecurity knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Power Platform components (Power BI and Power Automate) is a must-have.
  • Proven experience in business requirements analysis and documentation.
  • Hands-on experience in SIT, UAT and bug tracking,
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; capable of translating business needs into technical requirements.
  • Fluent in English, with excellent written and advanced verbal communication skills; additional languages (preferably Spanish) are an asset.
  • Preferably experienced in or knowledgeable about the insurance sector.
  • Advanced proficiency in standard software applications
  • Experience with data analysis or reporting tools (e.g., ERS, Excel, SQL, DQ Pro, Automation) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Visio, Miro, Agile frameworks (e.g., ADO, Visual Studio), and systems such as Pega, SBS Eclipse, or NewGen is a plus.
