THE ROLE:
The Business Analyst (BA) is a vital bridge between business goals and technical execution. The BA plays a critical role in delivery and transformation, working closely with product, engineering, data, and business teams to analyse customer journeys, define requirements, and translate complex business problems into clear, actionable outcomes.

The role focuses on rapid delivery, cross functional stakeholder management, delivering value, and embedding AI tools to accelerate insight, decision making, and value realisation.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
• Complete strategic analysis and shape initiatives into defined scope and outcomes, with supporting delivery plans.
• Analyse complex business problems using data to define clear, actionable outcomes.
• Ownership of Business requirements and acceptance criteria including elaboration, refinement, validation and traceability.
• Analyse Customer journeys and Business processes, documenting impacts, identifying areas for opportunity and lead the agreement of cross functional ‘To Be’ process change.
• Bridge operational stakeholders with tech delivery functions, internal departments and/or third parties
• Lead discovery and analysis activities to define business problems, opportunities and required value outcomes: What problem needs solving, what are the outcomes required to solve the problem.
• Support any supplier/hardware/software selection process by providing relevant requirements into an RFI and RFP and assisting in the assessment of responses against requirements. Reviewing Statements of Work and agreeing success criteria.
• Elicit, document, and manage Business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Ensure both functional and non-functional requirements, including cyber security, are considered, validated and accepted.
• Inspect and analyse data from a variety of sources to inform recommendations and/or solutions.
• Analyse end to end customer and business journeys to identify improvements and AI enabled opportunities. Document To Be processes gaining acceptance and ultimately embedding new processes.
• Support experimentation, pilots, and rapid iterations to validate value and feasibility
• Understand options, limitations, costs and risks. Communicate any trade-offs with business partners and work with them to shape requirements accordingly.​
• The BA’s strength is to communicate clearly to technical and non technical audiences to ensure complete alignment on expectations, requirements and outcome is achieved.
• Work with QEs to support test scenarios, defect triage and defect prioritisation.
• Define changes and/or impacts to service operations to ensure a fully supported solution.
• Support service transition and business cut-over activities. Provide necessary information and KT to relevant stakeholders in readiness for go-live. Support any change and adoption activities to embed the change within Business and Service.
• Use of AI tools to support the BA activities.
• Ensure AI and data governance responsibilities are captured and assessed when reviewing solution requirements and options.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, techniques and technologies. Seek opportunities to learn more about AI/Agentic AI and how the technology can support both the BA community and across wider business operational processes.

WHO YOU ARE:
• Experience of working across multiple retail domains such as digital, data, customer, stores and core operational domains. Good understanding of digital and omni-channel retailing.
• Understanding of Business situations, analysing and managing business information for decision-making.
• Proven ability to work in cross functional teams and work with cross functional stakeholders.
• Experience using AI-enabled tools for analysis and documentation.
• Ability to analyse problem areas, understand ‘why’, find the root cause, understand the goal.
• Ability to quickly learn the objectives, structures, operations and policies of a new business area.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders verbally, visually and in writing.​
• Clear and concise communicator, collaborator and “people person” capable of sharing a vision, aligning people, focusing efforts and motivating the team.
• Experience in delivering value following Agile, Iterative and Waterfall methodologies.
• Experience of working on multiple initiatives, at the same time, with different teams/sponsors etc.
• Ability and experience of working with third parties, including both solution suppliers and as project resource.
• Experience in engaging with senior and C-level executives to understand their needs.
• Ability to analyse complex problems, support the development of innovative solutions, and make data-driven decisions
• Experience of working with variety of team structures with onshore, offshore and remote team members and business stakeholders.
• Use and champion toolsets as required, for example: JIRA and confluence (Rovo), Copilot, Miro, Visio, Slack, Power BI, Teams, AI tools/models
