YOUR ROLE

Based in Truganina VIC and reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Business Analyst provides support to both internal stakeholders and external clients across all commercial activities within our Finished Vehicle Logistics (FVL) division.

You’ll collaborate closely with State Managers, sales teams, and key account managers to deliver meaningful insights that inform operational KPIs, costing for business development, and modelling for both prospective and existing customers. As part of the broader commercial team, you will also contribute to producing consistent and standardised commercial outputs.

This opportunity is ideal for a commercially minded professional who enjoys working at the crossroad of data analysis and operational delivery within a complex transport logistics environment.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

Specifically, you will:

  • Develop cost models and solution designs for new business, while maintaining and updating the operational cost base, including assumptions around utilisation, routes, trucking capacity, and rates
  • Analyse customer profitability, scope changes, and revenue leakage to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Present and communicate effectively with customers, supporting Account Managers and Business Development Managers
  • Evaluate network performance, focusing on utilisation and capacity, and assess the impact of operational changes and new business on KPIsSupport carrier procurement by analysing network shortfalls, improving service scope, and contributing to reducing the overall cost base
  • Maintain and support BI tools to ensure accurate and effective reporting.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Our ideal candidate has solid experience gained in a commercial and/or analytical role within transport operations, together with:

  • Strong analytical capability with experience in reporting, cost modelling, and quoting
  • Advanced Excel skills, including building templates and developing reports
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Bonus: experience with Power BI.


In addition to providing proof of work rights and suitable professional referees, progressed candidates will be required to undergo a medical assessment and national police check.
